No boss, its just you. :P Nice review btw and looks like a good mobo for Xeons.

I think that you should have gone beyond your normal routine and did tests that showed where xeon excelled. As using the regular battery of tests only showed a mid range processor - for the most part - only someone wanting bragging rights, lower power consumption or additional stability from ecc memory would, consider the lower fps on fps games as a good call. Would someone have to step up to an even better xeon processor to show real differences. Xeons of yesteryear were a major upgrade as far as processing ability, these tests seems to show that a 6700K would be the proper gamers cpu on the new socket (1151), although a better price comparing it to a i7 5960. Are there any other situations where the xeon would shine?

im a big fan of xeons i have two the e3 1230v3 haswell and the e3 1230 v2 ivy bridge ,im a game but also i leave my computer on 24 hours a day 7 days a week and thats where xeon is nice because as you say they are rock solid in stabilty and in power cosumption and temps and they have hyper threading so they can run games like crysis 3 fine wher a 4 core i5 will max out all cores and stutter, and also there cheaper than i7 an xeon with a 980ti will be faster in games than i7 with a 980 so if your on a budget it can be a way of getting a better gpu and still get hyperthreading

Thanks Mr. Hilbert for this test. So this Xeon CPU is better than Haswell i7 4770k & 4790K(which to me this Xeon and i7 47xx are the same as architecture) in content creation&encoding and with good price than i7 4790K. But not better than Skylake i7 6700K. In games all performs almost the same. The problem will be the cost of new 1151 sk motherboard+ddr4+new cpu vs. existing,say,Z97/Z87 motherboard+i7 4790K.

Killer NIC 😀 Don't judge them too fast. At first I thought they were garbage, then new sw comes, and everything is OK. Nice traffic control... sweet. Then it collides with malwarebytes. Then they patch it and its fine again. Then I notice drop-outs... finally I turn it off and using PCIE NIC. All in all, I'd avoid them in a robust system.

Does anyone really still use PS/2 keyboard/mouse ports? I know some older CS players like to use old mice but i really can't remember how long ago i used that port. I love that mobo design though but anyone getting a Xeon these days just for ECC and a lot of cores for gaming purposes is mad i think, either that or someone rich who just like to spend money.

I wonder if this Xeon can be oc'ed with bclk bios for the non K Skylake ?

Same question. That had to be the heart of this review.

I gave that a go but it was failing incredibly, not recommended. This simply is not an OC platform.

:( Thanks for the review. I hope other OCable mobos will be released in the future.
