And that also might be the Achilles heel, as once you switch over to MSI, ASRock or ASUS you'll probably will not be able to control the lighting anymore.

Probably surplus of low binned or something kits? The are 3200MHz 16-18-18-38 btw. @Hilbert Hagedoorn you seen this? Gigabyte also said the dummy modules are compatible with its RGB Fusion software (the same as the real memory modules), but it didn’t state whether or not the dummies will work with other motherboard RGB software."
