With that third fan being so close behind and being overlapped by the other two , i'm wondering if there won't be turbulence problem?

It will cost a lot, way more than the FE I'm sure...

980Ti Xtreme Gaming looks helluva lot better than this. I was too eager to bash ASUS Strix. I think that cards looks wonderful compared to this. But I would wait for a video to see it more in depth(just checked. Found 1 on YT). I think what I do not like is the middle X LED. I think its too small proportionally. 2 quickly and dirty(dont judge my skill yet :P) pics edited in MS Paint. Made the X LED longer. http://s33.postimg.org/obtl6nlov/20160605141110_big_2.png Continues until the four corners and it would have look a lot better imho. http://s33.postimg.org/3ni2pfu6n/20160605141110_big_3.png

I read that the Xtreme Gaming edition has the same clocks as the G1 1080. It just has better power delivery 12+2 over the G1's 8+2 and probably is top percent of the GPU Gauntlet™ Sorting system gigabyte uses to guarantee high ASIC. SO basically it's Core Boost: 1860 MHz / Base: 1721 MHz in OC mode Boost: 1835 MHz / Base: 1695 MHz in Gaming mode But we'd expect the Xtreme version to boost even higher and overclock slightly better than the G1 as well.

I think they've tried to get as much cooling as possible directly onto the gpu with this design. The 1080 G1 is revised as well but that looks like a very nice design. Proof is in the pudding though and Gigabyte must obviously think they're onto something with the new Extreme , looking forward to reviews 🙂

The new cooler looks interesting in terms of performance, i'm curious to see how it performs. In terms of aesthetics... **** YOU GIGABYTE. What is this ugly thing? It's so TACKY! Like the damned MSI Gaming designs with the hideous dragon logo that looks like it belongs in a 5 year old's coloring book. Another thing that drives me nuts. Memory Clock 10010 MHz WHY THE 10MHZ The 980Ti has the same damned thing. 7010mhz stock ? WHY?! WHY THE 10?!?!?

This is your captain speaking, we are on schedule to land at our destination, PCI-E slot 1, in a few seconds

Cute SLI bridge

No dual DVI ports? It's fine, but that was the only reason I would ever consider a Gigabyte product previously. Who is buying this stuff anyway.. never not had a problem with Gigabyte.............

Not a good choice what you have there because of SLI bridge. Better this http://pics.computerbase.de/7/2/5/5/6/14-1080.3308290176.jpg

I'm craving for a card with 5 fans, since this new arch is so hard to cool off. . .

I preordered this 27. may here in Norway 🙂 7500kr, same as 1080 FE 🙂 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X, PCIe 3.0, DL-DVI-D, 3x HDMI, 3x DP (GV-N1080XTREME-8GD)

Funny to see how many ppl still have no problem getting ripped off by G. First let sites/magazines test the cards, then release a revised one without lowering price. and the fact that the msi 2 fan solution is way more silent than the gigabytes 3 fan, is another reason i will probably get a msi, maybe an asus if they will offer a 2 fan one.

how often did that happen, and how much did that get blown up? Don't you think other brands switch out their memory etc...?
It's happened enough times with motherboards and graphics cards for me to believe that it's a company policy. Memory brand isn't the issue. It's things like reduction in VRM phases and going from dual bios to single bios while keeping the EAN code exactly the same.

I know I have said it before (regarding the stock 1000-series...) but that is one ugly graphics card.
