As the devices are still a bit costly, I wonder if anybody's got a Thunderbolt device in use? 😀

I would love to know as well. This is pretty BA for gigabyte to do this. I see they have changed a lot about what they are willing to do from when I used to purchase from them years ago. I remember buying a dead gfx card right out of the box......still think my brother has it for some reason. All I can say is my next build will be beastly as well and hope to have this and or something better/faster when the time comes. New phone has USB-C and could not be happier about this type of connection. Now just getting this Thunderbolt in place sooner than later might be an issue....

I'm not sure what the practicality of thunderbolt is when I have to run a DP cable from my video card to my motherboard and then another thunderbolt cable to a thunderbolt-capable display? Maybe thunderbolt will compete with DP in the future when more displays have thunderbolt connections?

firewire died because it wasnt fast enough for standards these day. even when it came out it wasnt that much faster then usb 2. thunderbolt on the other hand can do way more things then firewire could.
