It's just bulletin thread rating. Since you liked the reviews you can rate them 5 and up the score :P
ah makes sense xD I thought it was the reviewer who did star ratings for the cards hehe

Funny you mentioned size of Gigabyte, it might not fit properly in my case. I do like that boost clock tho!

Its pretty long mind, my lightning is at 297mm and its quite a tight fit since my case have immovable hdd cage... But between the MSi if its not because of the Gigabytes length, I would get Gigabyte hands down.

So far using the G1 I am having a bit of trouble getting it to boost up to 1500. Even with power boosting it still seems to struggle to reach a stable performance at that speed. Then again, I did notice that boosting the memory too far (past 3950mhz in my case) also caused some issues.. when I lowered this, they ran much better. Always possible the ones I got just don't have as good OC potential as others, but that's life. Anyways, your results may vary obviously.. but overall, they are still very great cards and are pretty darned quiet until they get past 60% on the fan.. you will start to hear them more after this point. And, to state the obvious, they look friggin ominous in SLI.

Hey Just wondering can you do a full length measurement in mm? from the PCB edge starting at the i/o port up to the other end (the edge of the metal shroud). Only if its okay if not its cool.

You state 31 cm, but I just measured again. Mine is close to 30 cm as mentioned in the review, I re-measured both the 970 and 980 both have the same length. You need to measure from the connector plate, and not include the connectors that actually reside outside of the chassis. http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=12834
That is what I had done.. as it is installed in my system, I took a tape measure and went from the back plate (connector side) to the very end of the card and got 31cm. Perhaps my tape measure is off or I misread it.. My apologies if my measurements were off.. Did not mean to mislead!

Currently trying decide between Gigabyte and MSI 970's. On comparing the two one point seems to stick out and that's gigabyte have gone to town with the amount of connectors you can have (2 extra display ports). I'm curious as to if this comes at a cost as clearly MSI have used less in order to put an exhaust vent on there card yet this questions whether the gigabyte will be prone to more heat issues or if it simply a case of the gigabyte cooler is superior enough to compensate.

Check the review, it is the coolest of temps compared to the rest. MSi I think is second then Asus being the last with high heat because they made this "STrix owl" to be silent themed. But they killed their card, it looks not as good as the Gigabyte, Palit and MSi. Also Pricing right now have Gigabyte as the most expensive at £299 in my place, with Palit and MSi at a good £260+ which is £30 cheaper. Much cheaper if your in the USA since they have no VAT.

Nice looking cards there.

This card indeed needs 800W min for 2-Way :P I was having BSOD problems whilst running the PC at full tilt. With CPU at 4.4 GHz, and both GPU's at 1530-1535 mhz. BSOD. my 750W XFX PSU did not have enough juice... >_>... Thats after testing all the components, the CPU ran 20 passes on IBT 10 on Standard and High. Temperatures never went above 64 Degrees Cel. On P95 4 hours did not BSOD. Tested CPU with intel's diagnostic tool (free download) all passed. GPU Stressed test using Kombuster, OCCT, Fire Strike extreme at 1530mhz again no BSOD HDD was tested using HDTune and checked Crystal Disk info and other softwares all good and running I have yet to test the Ram as I have no CD ROM for memtest 🙁... But it seems like my PSU just can't get on at full load. Need to replace this soon..

Late but nice review guys. Picked up two of these bad boys and lover them. This review was the one of the reasons for me picking these over the others. The other was the findings here. By far the best cooler with the best vrm cooling and the bios is quite interesting allowing for a much higher power limit than others

I will be buying this card in January and I can't wait, it should be a nice upgrade from my GTX 680. It's huge though, 12" compared to my 10" 680, but I should have the room.

Windforce LED backlight Hi all, Could you please tell me if this 'Windforce' blue backlight can be turned off completely? If it were red, I would have no problem with it. But as such, it just doesn't go with my red-white theme. Thanks!

Hey you can adjust it or kill it via geforce experience
data/avatar/default/avatar20.webp
Thanks for your response! To be honest, I'm having a hard time deciding whether I need to upgrade from two of my Club 3D Radeon HD 7870XT jokerCards (Tahiti LE) in CrossFire and watercooled. For reference purposes, these cards were reviewed on this site on 04/17/2013. Apart from getting PhysX effects in games optimized for Nvidia cards I can't see much benefits from getting this card. Or am I missing something?
