please don't mess up how the lanes are spread between the slots rear i/o are spread like Intel did...I'll take 1-2 M.2 less if it doesn't destroy the plateform like Z690 just to give you an idea...my X570 had 11 read usb-a and 1 usb-c....plugged in the back usually equals long cables that weight a lot and tug on the rear port so usb-c types are near useless and most adapters destroy bandwith down to usb 2 😏(same for cables unless you buy specific tested and proven ones) my top of the line z690 has 7 usb-a "woaw" 😕 between all my usb peripherals, VR headsets etc...I don't have enough and don't get me started on the fact that you lose half your bandwith because pcie slots are split by multiplier x4 x8 x16 not by "bandwith" which means when your x570 board split between 2x pcie slots you got x8 4.0 and x8 4.0 which is fine (not many 3.0 left so it's not a problem) but on z690 since we don't have 5.0 cards you also get x8 4.0 and x8 4.0..yep from 16x 5.0 you go to x8 4.0 and x8 4.0 so x16 4.0 overall losing half the bandwith into the void aka a good 25.6Gbs/s ...best design ever

nothing is messed up on intels setup. AMD has the dumb configuration of having sata and usb on the cpu.

When I look at the Z690 platform diagram, it seems to me the mobo manufactures could include a terrifying number of USB ports if they wanted to. But then again, I'm never sure if I'm reading those diagrams correctly.

and..........I just saw the pictures it looks garbage....AMD learned nothing 4 ddr5 sticks that don't work rear usb ports look like 10y old entry level computers, not X570 or TRX40 I see the unusable pcie 5.0 M.2 slot that destroys everything else if you use it... but sure believe what you want it's not like I've got an Asus Z690 extreme and it's...garbage, I was waiting for AMD to show it's motherboards but if it's the same "lost into the void" bandwith fiasco I'm going back to X570 5950X

stop with this incorrect bs. people are getting 4 sticks running at 5200 and higher now with new bios's.

Do you even need 4 sticks this days?

Nope, there are no single rank 32GB dimms, so theres no 64GB dimms either. this is despite ddr5 being cable of taking 128GB per stick and hynix fabricating 64Gbit dies since 2020.

You can grab dual rank 2x32gb dimms but yeah there is no 64gb dimms it seems, yet.
