So there goes the whole story about using Kabylake x as a cheap alternative on x299 while you save for Skylake X. This Kabylake X proc still looks like a useless cpu. So now you buy a motherboard that is limited to only 1 cpu??? Wtf!!!

There is plenty people that never plan to exchange their CPU, and if for some reason you want to get a KBL-X (maybe the most high-end gaming system you could find, I guess. Nothing beats gaming scores of those with their OC potential and Single-Thread power) For that matter, HEDT sockets usually live for at least 2 generations, so there might be a Coffee Lake-X on it later, maybe?

Why not make motherboards with 2 memory slots like in the "good" old days? Hell, just 1 ... single channel FTW! /sarcasm

Not sure why they chose to support the Kabylake-X instead of doing Skylake-X only boards. At least they have something resembling an ok processor... Though anyone buying an i9 is just wasting money now we are 2 days away from Threadripper 😀
