Still can't be bothered to install the 3.1 add in card that came with my 5 year old mainboard... I must be a dinosaur by now with "only" USB 3.0 😀

It has only one connector, so it needs some hub. What will make sense to connect on it? Some VR headset or external USB SSD?

Can't really think of anything else. Barely anything else would really take advantage of the extra speed vs traditional 3.0 or 3.1

Aren't VR headsets normally connected to the graphics card, since they come with USB-C ports these days? At least some? I don't own such a thing so no idea, I thought it was a "normal" add in card for faster file transfer, or maybe external GPU box.

I'm pretty sure the entire point is to use a hub. The thing I've come to appreciate the most about 3.1 Type C is the power delivery for multiple devices, that need nowhere near the max bandwidth. Otherwise an NVME enclosure would be the only "common" single device to be able to benefit from the bandwidth. Just thinking about it, I have 3 USB 3.0/3.1 hubs hooked to my PC right now.
