This makes no sense and is most likely a typo. 4070 will be the one with 12 GB

How much memory will a 4060 have?

Apparently they havent even decided about memory configurations on 4070 and 4080 and you guys still think they coming this year? Seems unlikely.

A103 rather than 102, it should be named the 4070, because it is the successor to the 3070. Good thing rumour has it that the 7900XT might actually be an option that's available to buy this time... hopefully.

Point. I guess we'll find out soon.

I think 4090 and 4080 will come this year, 12Gb variant of 4080 might be true too, but I think it would be less confusing if NVidia just released 16Gb version of 4080, 12GB for 4070/Ti and maybe for 4060 Ti, while 10GB for 4060 non Ti? 8GB might not be enough for 4K/1440p in 2023+..

8GB will be enough if developers pull their heads out of their asses.

that is true dying light 2 uses 1.2GB vram less after the patch with all rt options on. that said,I wouldn't advise less than 10g for 1440p rt. that should be enough even if developers do a sloppy job.

Maybe now but i would not go below 12gb even for 1440p in 2023.

that's why 12gb options for upper-mid range cards will exist, so that people will keep buying up for fear of vram usage because of games like doom, which has high vram requirements even without rt (and looks fantastic without rt too). meanwhile 3060ti with 8g is fine for like 98 out of 100 titles. tbh if a developer does a bad job, even 12g won't be enough. this is not a reason to buy a 3090. I'm buying the best price/perf card, and if I have to wait for patches/won't be able to turn on ultra rt in a couple of games,so be it. I'm not going to buy up for fear of vram requirements.

That 12GB card will be a 4070 i bet.

Im aiming for 12gb minimum so 4070/4070ti as i play at 1440p uw i do fear it will be barely enough in upcoming years. 4080 16gb would be amazing tho but there is another fear thats called the pricing.

yeah 3440x1440 requires more. what is your vram usage in dying light 2 after the update with all rt turned on ?

I'm only getting like 6.6GB wow that is steep. what was it before the patch ?

They managed to lower VRAM consumption by ~1GB, it seems to stick around 8.4GB instead of 9.4GB before (DLSS/FSR 2.0 Q 1440p). And it seems they also managed to do so without bad side effects.
