The most important thing in all this is that 3090ti is still coming.

Scalpers upset across the globe.

I can't believe there's still scalping to do over the possible MSRP prices. Obviously that will depend on demand, people are stupid.

$1500-$2000 US (MSRP) If this is going to be the new 'normal' for high-End graphic cards, well... I'm going to need a new hobby. Since nearly 2 years I can't get myself a new card for a normal price, and my 7 yo 390x isn't going to last forever.

Both new consoles together are less than one gpu. I'm with you, I can't do $1500 as a new norm.

Nothing is normal anymore. Prices are criminal, new products lines that make little to no sense are being released that the closest most of us can get to is through a screenshot. I feel life is getting corporated and it's closing down on us from all sides.

Doesnt the 3090 just replace the Titan series we had? If so they allways have been expensive. The last 2 genererations of Titan cards that released were well above 2000 EUR mark.

PC Gaming still cheaper then cars. I have more in the suspension upgrades on one of my cars then all 3 of my gaming rigs.

Exactly this... And when you consider that for $499 you get a GPU that is functionally pretty much identical to a RX6700XT, a CPU on par with a RYZEN 7 3700X, 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, a 1TB 2500MB/s NVME SSD, a UHD BluRay drive and an amazing gamepad (not to mention a cool case, PSU and Motherboard!) then the justification of paying $1000 currently for a RX 6700XT just does NOT make any sense... I am in daily shock of how bad the current GPU situation is. It SUCKS!

"availability" Refers to photo's on the internet i guess?

When a PC can last 15+ years and take me to my job I'll give the pricing some leeway.

This tbh. Even though the whole debate is still quite horrible, as MSRP is not really relevant considered items being purchased by bots, miners, scalpers and actual gamers. So demand is still high for quite all ranges, thus prices reach values far beyond of MSRP, even for non-high-end cards.

Other then a gpu, my friend had his i7 920, 12gb rig for almost 12 years. Only SSD, psu, and gpu upgrades as needed. Personally, I find some crying about PC gaming to cost too much are a bunch of babies. You play to play. If i was to sell every piece of PC euipment I have, still couldn't buy a 10k crate motor for my road course car. And i have a threadripper and 2021 hardware water cooled rig. GPU s last a long time. More then ever. Even my Fury X still games 1080p quite well, my RX 570 8GB.

pc gaming is different,it's a hobby. cars last longer, but also cost a lot more to buy and maintain. I recently lost my second key and had to reprogam the immobiliser too,you don't wanna know how much that cost.at least paying extra for a gpu hurts less now.it's almost 10yo now and it needs minor repairs from time to time, and these add up.I've never heard of a gpu that needs new tyres, wipers and a starter relay.

your rigs are all mid / low end range.

One needs to add the cost of games when considering PC/Gaming costs.

The pricing is insane because of scalpers. That's the complaint. But if you have more money than sense, more power to you. Also doubt anyone wants to spend 2k to play in 1080p. Congrats on the road course car. And your water cooled thread ripper. Not sure why you feel the need to let us know you have them though, the subject is on GPU's.

You certainly missed his point. He is telling you that you don't need such a high end PC to play. By the way, GPU prices rose mostly because of miners. Scalpers did make an impact too, but not as much as miners did. In the end, demand went up over supply, and that's the cause for the prices to go that high.

I'm so confused, when is RTX 40XX serie releasing?! 2023?
