it's a shame about the numbers, I was expecting something better, ever since the 780 firestrike score appeared which truly destroyed (I don't use this word lightly) the 680 score it's been all up in the air, for me personally. imo 750ti should beat 660 very easily after all it ain't just a 750 it's a TI, it's new tech, and these days NVidia has some beefy competition with the all-powerful Mantle on the horizon. NVidia could have stepped up a notch and sacrificed some sales imo.

I didn't expect that the 750ti would be slower than a 660 even with updated drivers. Man maybe Nividia will add some tweak the card some what to make it faster than the 660.
It's GM107(750 Ti) vs GK106(GTX660).What did you expect..

what's that mean then? is 'gm107' the weak Maxwell? I know about the uber Maxwell with the onboard cpu.

anything with a 5 in the second number are bad performers, 450, 550, 650, 750. a 750ti is nowhere near high end. maxwell aint dead yet.

even if it true, the big daddy Maxwell is not here. it will be by end of the year with denver cpu and 20nm, no point releasing high end maxwell even if they had it rdy. 750TI will be slower than 760, but if it maxwell then compute should destroy all the keplers, or most of them

nvidia wouldn't let the 750ti cannibalize the 760 sales by having it be faster
Yeah, right, I forgot they solely exist to sell the 760. Why would they want the new mid range card to outsell the old stock, right? 100% agree. *sarcasm off.

You realize this is a GM107 right the 760 is a GK104. And why would they want to release a card in the same generation that is a lower tier that is faster or as fast as the next card up? Also I withhold judgment until I see specs on the card. Who knows this card could only have two active SMX clusters and clocked at 800MHz with no boost, with memory on a 128bit bus clocked at 5000 effective. I see this card as a shake down run to get most of the problems the new architecture will bring driver side. Ahead of the mid and high end releases at the end of the year. Bring on the 880 classy.

Most of us would expect GM107 to be faster than or on par with GK106. There's no reason to release a GTX750Ti if it's no faster than GTX650Ti....

According to the "leaked benchmarks", GTX750Ti is 10% slower than GTX660 when it should be as fast or slightly faster.

I stand corrected I probably expected way too much out of a x50 based card. But I did expected it to be slightly faster though. But then again we do not know what specs the 750 ti has such as the amount of memory and the memory bandwidth.

I know, I was just reacting to anub1s post where he makes out as if Nvidia won't release a better card in mid range than 760 because that would hurt 760 sales.

It's a 750? What did you expect? Better numbers than the 780? How do you even know what it has under the hood to achieve those numbers? Also the roadmap you linked clearly shows performance per watt. It's entirely possible for nvidia to cut power by a third and maintain the same performance and that graph would still be accurate. Obviously that probably didn't happen, but saying it has "3 times more horsepower" isn't accurate at all.
At least it will beat 660, considering we pc gamers now have 4k gaming tech so we need that 3 times more horse power card to play with just 1 card at 60fps 🙂

4k gaming.....meh...do people forget about 1440p....a lot nicer than 180p and way less demanding and costly than true 4k....im honestly missing something I guess because I see all the folks on 1080p ranting about 4k...yet true 4k gaming is still a good distance away...you mine as well settle on 1440p before prices start to rise and Asus release that joke a tn 1440p gaming panel...my qnix laughs in its direction lol
