Well I run Win 7 but I have not done the latest updates of Win 7 they slow my PC to much. But I always keep the Nvidia drivers up to date exept now. This 397.93 realy fcked up my hole PC. The issue is not only Win 10 but also Win 7. It would not reboot anymore. Stayed on black Windows loading screen. Reboot save mode not possible. System recovery did work sometimes but slow. Even My HDD started to make weird noises. CHKDSK found that MTF file was corrupted and said repaired it. Well to be honest, not realy. Needed recovery tool and because I now found out I am noob it did not fix anything. A miracle moment occured and Iit rebooted pretty normal, not complete normal but it did. I removed the hole Nvidia installation of the 397.93 and started a complete new clean instal of the last version with 32 bits support, 391.35. and rebooted again. And again it did nothing. Now I rebooted in XP and started recovering the main Win 7drive in hope to find the mirror of the Master Function tabel. But this took 150+ hours. so I aborted after 1 hour. Now My main Win 7 Drive started to make even worse Noises buut I did a recovery of the latest good reboot of Win 7. And yes I got in again. Checked the if everything was there. Yep. Only that noise omg, like a relais clicking sound. It showed i was still running the older version 391.35 of Nvidia. Made recovery point of current reboot. and rebooted again. Finaly after 13 hours I got it running again. No more clicking sounds from HDD Main Win 7 and finaly back running normal. Well I can say this. DONT INSTALL 397.93. in WIN 7. I think the new drivers without the 32 Bits support are not ready yet. Keep running the old ones. The versions after this no 32 Bits support only gave me problems in my Win 7 64 bit.

M8 i really doubt a GPU driver is gonna cause a HDD to start clicking. My guess would be that the HDD is on it's way out. Seriously a gpu driver isn't gonna cause corruption in the MTF.

Oh Well I also thought the same. Aldoh the HDD is completely silent now. The corrupted MTF file could also occured of not rebooting completely. And interupting system recovery because of something. I did read somehere else someone just formatted the hole HDD and installed Windows again. Anyway, now I run the older drivers and did something I only dont know what. Its running fine again. Dont ask me how or why. Anyway I ordered a new SSD just to be sure of the upcoming possible HDD failure or death lol. And its a nice new Update anyway for this 2007 PC.
