So manufacturing card with 8GB will cost $24 more. Big deal... Especially since this tiny price bump will guarantee 60% higher bandwidth.

Not surprised we don't pay more already! I always laugh we people in the "pc" community start complaining about higher ram prices and cpu's that cost $50-$100 more for example. I remember being stuck on 128mb system ram for like 3 year's because a ram upgrade was over $300 at the time. Ram is cheap now.
RAM prices rose as much as 2.5 times quite suddenly, starting a couple of years ago. Now they have recovered considerably. I don't know how you could laugh at a decent 16GB RAM kit jumping from 120 dollars to closer to 300 dollars. The same product. Maybe your pocketbook is too thick these days?

Those prices are at 2000 unit prices. When you factor in say 500,000.00 to 1,000,000.00 unit cost I am sure the per unit price tumbles and you are looking at a 10-15% price increase from Gddr5 not 30-50%. And what is the spread in pricing from Gddr5x to Gddr6?

Interesting notion. But it does not go over 100%. And that's by selling something that you did not have to invest anything into. But yes, memory prices rose so high that profit margin could have been somewhere between 70~85%.

We will see what that means in the case of the RTX 2060. I'm pretty sure there will be no real life difference.

Are you really sure? Your 1sdt sentence implies otherwise. And it implies that nVidia designed 2060 GPU to use bit more expensive GDDR6 which it does not need. I do not think they would do that if it was not needed. On AMD's side of things, higher bandwidth is needed.

How are the prices compared to hbm2? My impression is hbm downside is the cost but it has better performance, or? How does gddr6 performe vs hbm2? And, does hbm cost more because of how its designed to work on the gpu? Asking because i belived i read amd is going to use gddr6 in next gen/navi and not only focuse on hbm as hard as they did when we first heard of vega. Any toughs regarding this? High end will use hbm, mid end gddr6. Or only pro gpu will have hbm and we gamers will be stuck with gddr? This is maybe a tad off topic, but guess its relevant considering the state gpu marked is and has been in.. Doubd nvidias prices are what they are just because of memory prices, nvidia has allways overpriced their products when they can. 1600usd for a rtx 2080 ti, its crazy. Not long ago gpu for prosumers cost less than gaming gpus now days. Hehe, hmm.. 🙁

Why would the percent decrease for the same increase between both? Unless you're saying the increase in GDDR6 to 500k-1m, and keep the GDDR5 at the 2000 unit, as a comparison, but i don't understand why anyone would compare something like that. Unless i'm missing something, if you increased the unit price from 2000, to somewhere in the 500k-1m scenario, both of them should decrease in price if from the same manufacturer, the same amount. The only thing that would make this potentially untrue is if the newer technology had less production capacity, in which case the older (GDDR5) technology would decrease more then the newer (GDDR6) technology. This would be the exact opposite of what you're saying.

The use of both commas and periods in the price table is very confusing. As it is written right now, some chips would cost tens of dollars and some thousands
