Why are they even bothering in making these cards? IGP is better these days.

Multi-monitor office setups. Probably the same market segment as the Matrox card with 9 display ports.

there are systems out there that doesn't have integrated graphics. these type of graphics card can be good for them.

If you need gpu power then you might as well save money and get something many times better for only a fractional price difference, if you will never have the money then buy used and for marginally increased risk get something magnitudes better. Price to performance ratios on these "GPUs with 20% real GPU" level cards are dire.

For an office environment that doesn't need much graphics processing power but needs multi-display capabilities, these cards make more sense than buying something more expensive. These cards really aren't aimed at people like us....

or to add to a HP Microserver for sound and ok vga for Kodi and a few not demanding games 😀

Even the guy from the box illustration is wearing business attire. So yeah, I think its meant for multi-monitor office works.

Kepler? non-Maxwell based parts in 2016? Nvidia must have a lot of old inventory.

This is not for home, it's for business. We at work right now use plenty GT730s, they drive 3 monitors and give HDMI sound for monitor speakers (which are bloody enough for Skype and stuff like that and eliminate need to buy speakers or have them take space on the desk). GT710 seems like even better choice, since it will do the same job just fine for the less money and you don't need any more than that to drive multi-monitor business/development setup. And we do not give a damn if it's Kepler, Maxwell or whatever - it can as well be Fermi for all I care if it does the job. For home? lolno, but then maybe for some grannies who just want youtube and were shoved some cheapo CPU from AMD without integrated graphics... and there are a lot of grannies like this.

a budget card a celeron and this card and you have a kick ass office machine that can run plant vs zombie for your assistant (on coffee pause of course isn't it?). but yeah iGP vs this card... after the pentium i would take the iGP and even with the pentium i would be 50/50 *edit*
