What Sound card is best suited for a PC build requiring both HD Voice-to Text and Video conferencing. Voice input is through an MXL 990 condenser microphone and Xenyx 802 Pre amp mixer. Price is not an issue, but audio quality needs to be optimum. All comments greatly received.

Thankyou Ragdoll. I have been reading reviews on Asus Can you confirm that ST is a PCI card while the STX is a PCI-E card. The two are not compatable are they. I notice that the ST has the ability to add an H6 daughter board onto it to give 5.1 capability. What difference do you think that this makes? My main interest is in Hi fidelity speech (i.e. not karoake) input and not output, as in games or music? Thanks once again.

If price is no question, The Creative ZXR is the daddy of sound cards.

I wouldn't say the Daddy as there are a few cards with similar specs....it is one of the best available right now though.

Given that there are, as ROBSIX indicates, soundcards with similar specs as Creative ZXR would you please be kind enough to indicate which they are? I am impressed with Asus Xonar Essence STX. Out of ignorance I ask what is the significance of the difference between PCI express and PCI ... How significant. if at all, in making choice of soundcard, is the display connectivity to the Samsung 27A850D monitor? Is it correct to assume compatibility with an i7 3770k mobo for the soundcards that you have recommended? I ask because I do not know and am most grateful for your kind advice.
