Great news, comparable to ddr4 speeds? Also when running games on 4k resolution i'd imagine 3ghz ram would be around the sweet spot.

G.Skill and Samsumg seem to be stepping up their game.

Wow, that is something. Timings though XD. 4770 MHz should be the next target :P

Really, like we all use LN2. What would be impressive is when you can do this 24/7 without LN2

As soon as you put it on your mobo, goes to like 1600 lol.

We will see even more extreme speeds from DDR4...

Indeed, as always technology marches on.... never mind that DDR3 bandwidth isn't fully utilized yet, DDR4 is calling. I often feel like new tech is forced prematurely upon us....like some invisible machine is plowing ahead and we the consumer are constantly playing catch up... lol But I digress.

Well, if nothing has changed significally in RAM technology, the new generations are never really faster than the old. I did some comparison tests back when DDR3 was new and found out that DDR2 and DDR3 perform the same at 400 MHz and identical timings. So basically new generations just allow higher max speeds, while not really being something new and more efficient. Also since then I prefer RAM at medium MHz but with aggressively low timings. My four sticks run at 8-8-8-22. Yes, I know there are 7-7-7 modules out meanwhile, but mine are already a bit older 🙂
