Cl 18-22-22-42 @ 3466mhz They have faith in Threadripper and x399. LOL I running 3600 cl16 on my threadripper.

So... what makes them "AMD" specific? The profile of AMP (or what it's called) instead of XMP?

What memories are you using?

G.Skill Trident Z Silver/Red DDR4 3600MHz 2x8GB (F4-3600C15D-16GTZ) Running them at 3466 MHz and CAS 14 on an 1700X. Sure, laxer timings might be required for 4x8, but not exactly impressed by this launch.

So not a Threadrippe then! A lot of X399 owners have been having issues getting their memory stable above 3200 MHz and the G Skill has been amongst the best for this particular chipset. Higher rated RAM from a trustd brand is most definitely welcome.

I dismissed the Intel vs AMD xmp specs when building my current X399 system - I now believe that there is something to this intel vs amd spec. I have had stability problems with a Corsair Vengeance pro rgb 3466 64gb ("intel spec") kit on my X399 / 2950X. I've seen various Gskill 64gb (4x 16gb) kits are capable of 3200 or higher on X399... Best I have been able to get is 3066 at CL14. Granted this is with 4x 16gb dimms, but still disappointing for expensive ram. Not all memory is created equal, but these Gskill kits use the same Samsung B die memory chips as those in my Corsair memory. I do not know exactly if it is the hardware or just silicon lottery on the memory dies but the difference is noticeable. I tested this Corsair memory on a family member's 2700x system also and had similar results - with his AMD Gskill 2933 kit easily OCing to 3200 while my (Intel) 3466 Corsair fell flat on its face again above 3066 (both kits were 4x 16gb and Ryzen Dram calculator was used in both cases).

More like IMC differences.
