A small "fix" that could cause an API failure? Perhaps a small fix for the API failure was lost in translation? 🙂 That or 3DMark is mad and hell bent on breaking their benchmark.

Can confirm, this update has fixed the API overhead test from crashing (my system had the bug).

Another 3.7GB download for a "small fix". They need to release a patch for this type of update, it is quite annoying to download over 7GB in the last two weeks.

It takes 15min to download 4gb with 40mbps net that cost 20€ a month. Idk whats the big deal.

It was just a 5MB update for me :/

Not everyone has access to a fast connection geographically speaking - I can only get ADSL and it's a sh*t connection, takes me over an hour to download 1GB for example. https://puu.sh/vbagL/28bd09cbf7.png

Even Sky`s lowest broadband is more than that, either youve been seriously capped or you have a line issue.

It's the distance to the exchange and it's crap. No cable or fibre on our road yet either.

2 mbit/s means around 4.5 km distance from the exchange. it's typical for rural and not well expanded areas. some people even need to do DSL via satellite because there is no direct line to their ISP. that may increase speeds to ~10-16mbit/s but it also means RTT of 200-300ms

API test always crashes on me after first DX11 test. Wonder if it will run now. Ive tried stock cpu clocks and still same issue.

Yup, that's exactly it, exchange is 4 miles away but it's also because of the lines being over subscribed, we did have 3.7mbps up until a few months ago, but we've had a few more neighbours moving in recently each subscribing to broadband, it's no coincidence that our net speed has dropped since their arrival (our neighbours that have been here before the new arrivals have also noted a drop in speed).

Did you update from within the 3DMark application? The last few times I tried that the update failed and corrupted the installation. I would prefer to download a patch and run it when 3DMark is not open.

This is true, I pay $100 per month for ADSL2 with 1TB download limit. I have 12Mbps (Megabits not Megabytes!) downstream (when there is no network congestion) so it takes me a while to download.

For me the update was very small too. Updated within Steam

I've got it through Steam

I see! Well that explains the small patches 🙂

Same for me, the update from 3DMark has never worked for me - it just exits without downloading anything. Probably because the install is not on the default system drive? Stupid! Every time downloading Gigs for a small update...
