absolutely do not need AD104 cards that long with that heavy a heatsink.

In February very good chance i could be in the market (work loan paid off for my previous card + bonus), i like the sound of the 70ti i'd probably go £800, not much more tho. Just keep my 10700k.

Well, read an article or two that says nVidia wants 899USD for the RTX 4070 Ti, yep, same exact price as when it was called the RTX 4080 12GB (Fake Edition). And you know what, nV fanboys will happily just lap it up!

You know there are silent air cooling enthausiasts? There will no doubt be brands selling 2 slot screamers as well if you fancy that.

I would not be surprised if thats actually true. If they atleast reduce the price to 699$ it would make sense but 899$ for a x70 class gpu no thanks.

but.....but it's a 'Ti', Tee Eye!!! Surely the nV fanboys would be willing to pay that amount for a 'Tee Eye'.

I think nvidia is believing weird things about its customers. I mean this all 4xxx series was a fiasco (they even artificially rasied the prices for 3xxx by keeping stocks) and fanboys still run and buy whatever they afford/can from them. How silly can this be ? I mean guys come on we are on the GPU market for ages why we help them make this happen ? Moore law is dead ? We really need 1500-2000 USD graphics cards ? You know what is next ? AMD is not your friend either they are just afraid to hike the price now.... but the first real chance they have you will see 1000+ cards from them all day long. If we accept this and continue to buy at even higher and higher prices eventually a GPU will cost more than a computer.

at $899 a 7900XT would be a considerable investment over a 70 model.

The GPU cost inflation feels absurd. I looked up my last 2 xx70 nvidia GPU receipts: $329 - 10/2014 - EVGA GTX 970 4GB ACX 2.0 (2 weeks after 970 was released) $460 - 5/2016 -MSI GTX 1070 8GB GAMING X (5 weeks after 1070 was released) $900 in 2022? (^not "Ti" models, but the 1070Ti also launched for $450) All other things: "$1 in 2014 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1.26 today, an increase of $0.26 over 8 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.91% per year between 2014 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 25.76%." ($1 in 2016 is about $1.24 today / price increase of 24.04%.) I know it isn't 1:1 to GPU production and all the snafus of late, but I still feel like nvidia is high.

Funny my experience is similar to yours, i`ve bought a MSI GTX970 Gaming for 330€ and then an Asus 1070 ROG Strix for 430€ (on a sale), and now a 70 card costs more than 600€...

This card will get SMOKED by the 7900XT.

I really hope it's not 900$, been looking for a gpu for my new rig for a year now and the Euroboy I am is not ready for a mid line-up gpu over the 1k€ cap

Well duh... 7900XT should compete with the 4090 while the 7900XTX should compete with a future 4090 Ti. And they can't by a long shot.

We're not just seeing oversized prices but oversized heatsinks too. The 4080 already proved to not need a triple slot cooler. Surely, this won't need one either. I remember the days when I complained about 150W GPUs being dual-slot. At least then there was an audible difference in doing that. I'm sure you can get a quiet-enough experience with a 4070 Ti on a dual-slot cooler. If you really care that much about silence, get a liquid cooler.

Yeah and so will the 4050 o_O

Too everyone else, and rightfully so its a price point. The 7900xt would completely compete with 4070ti at this price point, and get destroyed by the 7900xt. Doesnt matter what you wanna think, no way a $999 gpu is gonna go toe to toe with a $2000 gpu. Doesnt matter if Nvidia is high on prices.
