Will they release new mobos for this cpu or will we use the ones already available?

IBE will use X79, so no. But we do expect to see some new X79 launched by the motherboard manufacturers though.

Would make sense. After all didn't EVGA just release a new X79 mobo "Dark" or something along those lines?
BLEH!
Surprised they've not updated the chipset to be more like Z87 with more SATA6 ports etc, although IIRC, X79 was supposed to have 12 SAS ports right?

If I build a new rig it'll probably be A85X based, EIGHT SATA 6 GB/S THANKYOU 😀

Hmm... Seriously thinking of upgrading to 4930k. But I believe I should better wait another year for Haswell-E probably.

Quad memory and 12 threads sounds mighty sweet. Still, $550 is a fair chunk of change.
Hilbert. Dude. it's photos, not photo's. The Grammar Nazi is not impressed by your apostrophe abuse. 😀

Some of the X79 boards have already gotten a bios update to support IB-E. I'm just wondering what features these new ones will bring. I would definitely like to see more native Intel sata ports. 4 just isn't cutting it these days.
