Given the fact that recents games are like a fat pig with lipstick running a marathon, my only hope for dx12 is better performance.

Can't wait any longer, please give DX12. Am gonna love the free boost from DX12 but i know for a fact that i'm gonna hate Win 10 for at least a year, well up until i know the OS inside and out. I hate an OS being in control and having loads of background processes running when you don't even know what they are. So learning how to take full control over W10 will take a good while i think. I like my OS to be very light weight and stripped right down to the bare essentials. My current install of Win7Ultimate runs with only 28 processes running in the background. So it's very snappy at the moment and i feel like i'm in full control of what is allowed or not.

I'm counting on Battlefront being one of the first DX12 games

errr bad analogy, direct x 12 is going to be a quantifiable upgrade from direct x 11 by how much? Look at Mantle, now imagine a game that was written to take advantage of the spare CPU cycles

The fact is that your 28 processes include many other processes inside them. And the process names are just names, they can run any code anyway. You are just being paranoid.

Demoscene I'm very excited to see what the Demoscene (www.pouet.net) will get out of DX12.

Takes me a while to adjust to a new OS, not worried so much about security risks though I'm more interested in getting the the most performance out of it, there's a lot of bloatware floating about in windows and i'm still not a fan of metro, I think Windows 10 will take some time to get used to but I am looking forward to DX12.

I tried... But kept getting stuck on lazy developers/publishers.

It usually won't reach the lazy developers, the pigdogs like EA will cut their time and budgets before they ever have a chance. Gotta spend dat multimillion dollar budget on advertising Call of Battlefield Duty 19.2B Man of Honor Edition game that's going to sell 15 million preorders. If it's Japanese developed then they'll cap the game at a locked internal resolution of 1024x768, have no graphical options to speak of, and be locked at 30fps. Just like Dark Souls.

Paranoid you said, lol. M8 if i was paranoid about it then i'd be ripping the fiber connection clean from the wall. I just like a light weight OS with as little bloat as possible so all the stuff not used is disabled or set to manual. Hopefully Windows 10 won't be to bad with bloat but i doubt it very much since bloat usually comes with Free things. Learning to turn bloat off is never a bad or paranoid thing to do. Most of us here don't use most of MS's added programs and such anyway.

DX12 and Mantle will be for 100% (dunno when) : PC - StarWars BattleFront (EA, FrostBite 3.2, DX12.3) - Star Citizen (not confirmed Yet, but Mantle 100%) - New NFS (rumors states that will be True Underground 2 succesor with Largest City seen in tha' racing games ;-) - GTR 4 - New Crysis ( 4? not much more i know but CryTek working on something Next-Gen) - New HomeFront 2 - TES 6 (but Maby will have DX12, not confirmed yet) - Gigantic F2P game - The Witcher 3 will have later DX12 patch ( Török also explained that while The Witcher 3 won’t support DirectX 12 at launch, the team will think about it for the future, as the new API becomes available to the general public. ) - FallOut 4 Maby DX12, but more accurate is Vulcan ;-) - Next Games from EA runing new FrostBite - Oxide StarDock Games will have DX12 100% There is a lot of new Games from AMD Gaming Evolved Program (90% of them have Mantle Already Implemented so DX12/Vulcan is possible ;-)

An F2P game called Gigantic has partnered with MS and will be using DX12.

That list is not moving me one bit. If GTA V was DX12, Vulcan or Mantle, I would jump on it. I can wait until the end of the year to upgrade my GPU when DX12 games shakes down the bugs with a 4/5K upgrade.
