well here i pay about 20 euro cents per kwh i pay every 4 months last time i paid 166 euros for 823 kwh having a card alone chewing about 3.5 kwh per 24 hours means 420 kwh so 84euros per 4 months just to run a single card 24/7 and i doupt that 1060 can make that back + the cost of the card not for me at least
NVIDIA cards are used to mine equihash coins, like primarily zcash, zclassic, zencash and zdash. Aside that, they mine ETH at a decent rate. On equihash, a typical 1060 mines at about 310 sol/sec on OC, consuming about 100 to 130W. - At current (rising) value vs less rising hashrates, this pays about 150USD per month, at a cost of 33,12 in your case. (0.20$ per kWh). -- The new cards are advertised as optimized, and cheaper than current models. As a miner, i'm more than happy to buy! :cyclone:

It mines eth at about 19Mh/s overclocked. That's 280 performance. I don't imagine many would buy it. It's smarter to get an used 7950, 7970, 280, 280x, 290, 290x, 390, 390x. All cost less and mine better.
Yeah, I lost interest as soon as I saw that it was Nvidia. It would be no better than my 1060, which does 19 Mh/s.

Why would anyone use NVIDIA cards for mining.

All experienced guys who make money from it will not as they do not do it today. They know closely what kind of hash rate and power consumption they can expect at certain settings/clocks. But naming card for certain purpose may catch few people who do not do their homework before buying. I wonder if this is way nVidia decided to sell chips with broken display controller.

Well NV is doing 1060 as miner card and is also bringing miner optimised drivers for the 1060. AMD is doing 480 as miner only card same as above no output connectors. My 3 290x are mining 24/7 @ 100 MH/s using 24 KW over 24 hours @ 1 KW an hour. Power costs me £0.10 a KW so £2.40 a day. At current rate of exchange earning roughly £446 a month minus power @ £2.40 x 30 days = £72 £446-£72 = £374 a month profit. Obviously the above figure can go up and down, even if it halves still making a profit. Adding further 120 MH/s in next 16 days (How long have wait for elusive AMD stock to come into retail at moment) pre-ordered RX 570's Which will easily double the above figure to £750 profit a month as RX570's use considerably less power than 290X. http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh212/k3vst3r_oc/profittt.jpg

I really dont understand the negative bias in this thread against these cards. Miners are stacking up to pre-order

It it's the case....good news for everybody (miners and gamers).

im pulling in around $100 a day now. (a little less now with the recent restriction) yes mining is still profitable even to the home user. You won't get rich, but its nice spending money...

well then i stand corrected ..... although does this card needs 6gb of ram for that? ...say if they change the chips for lower capacity but same speed ones say same number of chips but 1.5 gb tottal... would not be the same hash rate but lower price ? although since i do not mine .... well i might be wrong again :P

100$ per day now? I wonder what's your payback period (...or was). 🙂

With 3x 290x? What are you mining?

god i hate people being such liars and cheaters. You are all whining about reselling the cards, a good miner calculates the costs of the cards and keeps mining them untill they are either dead or can be thrown in the trash can. But you are all acting like little kids ... most of you just want top profit and try to sell your worthless miner card to gamers so they end up with your crappy over used card which probably will give the buyer alot of issues. But you'll won't care you just say in my pc it ran well, while you never ever played a single game on them. Yes i was a miner in the paste, i scrapped all my miner cards or sold them very cheap and told that i had them heavily used. Simple said i got huge profit and took the costs of the cards as normal costs like electricity. It makes me sick that you are all full of greed, these miner cards are a nice solution, comparing them to a totally different brand is BS its exactly mining as the gamer 1060 so whats the crap about comparing it to a AMD card. Everybody knows the AMD cards do better with mining. So be a man and buy a load of the amd vega rx 64 watercooled and start mining with them. Making a farm with these nvidia will last a long time and you probably end up making even more money of you use them on new coins ..... but most of you little babies does not know how todo a good mining business anyway.

Silva:

Asus jumping on the RX unavailable bandwagon? Hopefully it will help the gaming cards go to gamers instead of the faggots using them for mining.
Enough of the word faggots, you use it in every thread that mentions mining. It's an offensive word and just paints you as an ignorant person.

Oh please, don't mind me: I do mean to offend them! Thanks to them I waited 2 months for an RX570 and in the end had to buy a RX560. I won't say anything else or I'd risk a ban. PS: Why did you dig such an old post?

Offend away. I despise crypto-currency as it is used for much nefarious, dark-web shit. You mine, you're a part of it. Don't care if it's getting more mainstream. Though, Trump did say he was going to bring back mining. Something to build on. A promise kept.
