Who cares? Cryptominers are going to AGAIN buy all the cards up. There is already photos coming out of Taiwan of people with literal boxes full of them...not even released yet...?????? What BS....

I'd say these could be accurate.

Accurate 'guestimation'?
They also mention that this channel where all this was posted has already been caught using fake review samples and publishing a review earlier (they hid the name of the Ryzen processor). This time leakers do not show any review sample, so we cannot confirm if they actually tested the card or have done a bit of 'guestimation'

Where are those 50-70% first rumors ware showing?

Those were the nVidia marketing rumours weren't they? Like the ones they paid Digital Foundry to put out? These new ones look to be about right to me - i.e. somewhere between 25-40% uplift from 2080ti

What will be even better.... the miner's are going to buy up all of these 3080s and it is going to end up being that Big Navi is going to be far better for mining for less money. They are then going to flood the used market with the 3080s that have their warranties voided (no one covers cards that have been used for mining; it sets a flag in the bios that cannot be altered - right once memory) and they will not be able to move them. It would serve them right. I do not care as I have a 3080 coming in a few weeks as a warranty replacement for a failed card; I already have the RMA confirmation and tracking info (aka the label has been created).

Time Spy is showing 38% so that would be accurate. Maybe those higher margins would be only with rt and dlss enbaled.

first rumors and video from DF is 3080 vs 2080, not 2080s

Wasnt the 3070 equal to the 2080ti and the 3080 was suppose to be twice as fast? by this i would even assume the 3090 wont even reach twice as fast.

I'd say maybe no for a little bit at least. I remember when the 1080ti dropped and it was complete crap for mining for about 4-6 months as the mining algorithm wasn't optimized to utilize GDDR5X like it was for the 1070s GDDR5. I'd say the same should apply to GDDR6X. Now the 3070 on the other hand with just GDDR6, this could be a good seller, but the top end cards should hopefully be left alone for a little bit...

Remember this is RTX3080 not a Ti and 25-45 % faster than 2080Ti which is great and it would be 65% if it was RTX3080Ti.

That's the rough estimate I'm hoping for with the 3080ti as well, least coming from a 1080ti. The 3080ti is the one I hope to upgrade to and it should come out in 6 months, though I've been hearing rumors over on reddit that nvidia might try to release it before years end. With the new AMD announcement today, there could be some truth to that...

The 3080 Ti will be a cutdown 3090 with, if rumours are true, half the VRAM (so 12 GB) but it remains to be seen just how much faster the 3090 is over the 3080. It may not be as much as the price difference between the 3080 and 3090 would suggest... Anyway, a 50% on average performance improvement over the RTX 2080 Super which itself is slightly faster than 1080 Ti is good enough for me. While commonsense is telling me to wait for the 3080 Ti even if it will cost nearer £1,000, I still think the 3080 might be a better buy for me as someone who plays games at 1440p and will be for the next few years at least. The 3080 is also more reasonably priced at £649, less than the 1080 Ti I bought three and a half years ago which has ended up being the best GPU I have ever bought. At this point I will almost certainly be getting a 3080 in the next few weeks as I feel the time is now right for a new card that supports RTX and DLSS, things I have not been able to use (well, I can use RTX on my 1080 Ti but not at a playable framerates unless I drop the resolution to chunk-o-vision mode!!!).

If I'm not going to spend my money to 3090, there's no point of upgrading 2080ti to 3080 really (not going to sell my old card), especially if games are running in 2K and not 4K. Better save all that money to 4xxx series or whatever is coming from the Intel and AMD. Only games will really tell do I really need to upgrade my stuff.

Again though 3080Ti with only 12gb of Vram is pish. I was hoping for the 3080Ti to have 20gb. My problem is with only 10gb on the standard 3080 even though it might be fine today but what about tomorrow and the day after. I could buy a 3090 but it's totally over kill for a ATX midi sized gaming build. By the time you are using anywhere near 24gb the 3090 will be weak most likely. I want something in between the 3090 and 3080 or a 3080 with double VRam. I really hope rumors of doubled ram versions is true. I could live with a 16 or 20gb 3080 whether that's a Ti version i doubt it. My feeling is they release a S version again with double ram and GPU cherry picking for slightly higher clocks. btw i doubt very much they'll be releasing a cut down 3090.

I've been doing everything I can to convince myself to stay in the PC gaming hobby. But so help me, if miners dry up the market, I am officially done. That's the final straw. The 2080's sat at over a grand for months due to such. Unless they only prefer Nvidia and big navi delivers in performance and is available. I'm still waiting for that. 16gb over 10 sounds great.

Haven't checked Firestrike benchmark for 2 years. Only check TimeSpy nowadays.

Since DLSS 2.0 the whole RTX stack has gained value to my mind, they're here to stay really. Still happy to have sold my 2080-ti 900euros one month ago.

According to specs, 2080ti is 3080 renewed and optimized for maximum experience and performance. I expected nothing more nothing less. Ampere is bad like previous generation. 1080ti wasn't much slower than 2080 either. The hype WAS real. At least 1080 destroyed and vanished 980ti.

980ti is fast 1070 when you think about it. That isnt destroying is it? Nvidia stagnating for years, increasing only prices . Ampere would be this big thing but if it dissapoint now people will be pissed. Thats good for amd though.
