Nvidia is spitting customers in the face again and again. Nice one.

Yes....because a company not owned by nvidia canceling development on a game is somehow nvidia spitting customers in the face....the logic is strong with you.

Well, it's only been 2 months since RTX was released... Maybe RT game features was scheduled for 2019 and Nvidia forgot to mention it. /s

Square Enix probably cancelled any further development because of low PC sale numbers or some other fantasy reason to save the money they'd have to spend on own engineering hours to implement PC only features. This does not necessarily have much to do with Nvidia.

wonder what's the reason

1. Shadow of the Tomb Raider demo in the NV RTX release event showed an fps counter showing 30ish framerates on FHD with a 2080Ti. 2. SotTR was supposed to have the RT in a patch, but no release date yet. 3. BF V developer DICE announced in early September that they downgrade the Ray Tracing effects to get suitable performance. 4. As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) BF V was supposed to include RT features at start - now it is delayed. 5. Now Square Enix announces that they cancel Ray Tracing development for FF XV. Good morning. I just love how RTX preorder buyers are getting pranked - sorry.

How the fk is this Nvidias fault, it's not just pc owners missing out, it's console owners too as 3 DLC packs have been cancelled. SE is piss poor and poorly managed company, just unfortunately that Nvidia have 2 titles that are/were scheduled to have RTX support are published by this shit show of a company. Really people are reaching low to put this one on Nvidia

The reason of the cancellation of the 3 DLCs is that the head director of XV development left the company to create his own and not because XV had low sales. Not FFXV related but the RTX series was a major fail. By the time Ray tracing kicks in mainstream games the next RTX GPU series will be out. RTX cards were just an overpriced hype and nothing more.

How do you know this, before making statements like this at least wait for a game that's been released and final build. If leaked reports are confirmed true, ps5 is going to have some form of RT support so I'm sure 2080ti will run those games just fine.

Nope, got cancelled because the product director quit SE to start up a pipe dream.

And the company blew 33 million on a new studio, SE been poorly managed for a long time, well the Japanese side.

Yep you both are right, I read up on it now. Doesn't change much, it's not Nvidia's fault that RTX doesn't get implemented, most likely.

I hope people are demanding partial refunds for the season pass.

To be clear about FFXV DLC plan cancelled last 7 november SquareEnix release this annoucement : http://www.hd.square-enix.com/jpn/news/pdf/20181107_01.pdf Luminous-Studios who work as sub-company under SquareEnix loss-extraordinary-profit off 33millions Luminous Studios basically the company/team that responsible creating engine, new-tech to implant in SquareEnix future games SquareEnix from years ago been always using their own in-house engine, and Luminous Studio Engine is planned to the replacement of Crystal-Tools But ended with Luminous-Studio-Engine, the company warp out their in-house engine, because its to expensive and costly to develop and instead pick like most game-developer do, using 3rd party game engine (Unreal Engine) for their future games For taking responsible the Director Tabata Hajime resign from SquareEnix (including Luminous Studios) with that, the planned DLC also "postponed" but most people agree it cancelled in short its simply long development that cost massive loss, FFXV is actually planned as FF13Versus but keep redesigning and eventually released as FFXV of course all those development time will just add the cost, which in the end even FFXV sales been okay, it doesnt enough to cover development cost

Well, as an AMD fanboy that i am (since ATI days), i have a theory that tracks the only person to be blame about this.. and he is Raja Koduri, because he fail with vega architecture (i know all those histories about the resources and engineers been taken from him, but i chose to miss them out) , so Nvidia not having an opposition on hi end range could get away with this half cooked launch, so because the development times get developers pants down, we have this development hell (in the RTX side), so screw you Raja! PS: just joking pals, we need to relax a little more

Can Nvidia's cards run CRYSIS if it had Ray Tracing? ;-)
