Strangely, I felt the W11 virtualized sluggish. Tried to use it extensively, put a lot of pressure on it, just to get an idea. At that time, not long ago, I thought it was the abstraction layer overhead of the virtualization, despite I gave 4 cores and 8 GB to that VM. Well, hope that updates will fix that. Wait, updating in itself was sluggish.

bugs will be discovered and will be fixed "later this month", what bothers me is that despite there is the option of upgrading from 10 to 11 ,most of the computers that i completed the process had to be eventually formatted and clean installed w11. The most disturbing of all is when clean installing w11 does not fix a specific bug like the above . Judging from the company i work ,developers-programmers don't respect tech departments. IT dept is cheap labor . Do this ,do that, you are not doing it the right way blablabla.... ahhhhh yes "later this month". Giving some one the illusion of choice that leads to "later this month" cannot be fixed and there is neither a workaround. Man w11 skyrockets my blood pressure.

@GlassGR man recently we went threw to win 10 22H2 update on everything since eol of 21h2 ends tomorrow +-few days too bored to check the exact date. We are talking about 400 work stations ... Win11 out of the question since the computers do not have tpm i5 4690 mostly ... We had about 20 systems that had Unicode issues... And other nonsensical issues not hard to fix but .......cooooooome on. And since then over 50 tickets blaming the update for everything .... Hey mister IT my coworkers farts seem extra smelly what did you do with the updates ?

When doing benchmarks for solo thread workload I tend to reduce the priority of "dwm" (desktop windows manager) and "TextInputHost" both being on 'high' priority by default and taking among the most ressources. Also recently I resetted my win11 main computer and faced explorer freezes until I cleared the "recent" informations (recently accessed/used/saved files).

After 6 month of windows 11 I can honestly say: this OS is a big TURD: high cpu utilization or the opposite - non or very low utilization for some processes (especially compression algorithms that mysteriously can't run on win11 more than 0.1 - 0.3% CPU utilization), slow file explorer with tabs, crash file explorer with tabs, vmware incompatibility, some antivirus annoyances - I hate it! The OS should be just a support for my software, something "in the shadows" and not the prima donna of my attention because of bugs and annoyances. Honestly this is the worst of the worst in MS history (and I had no problems with Windows Me and Vista), for me at least. I wanted to see for myself but now I'm done: first thing when I will be on holiday is back to win10.

Such hardware requirements made all better XD

I have had more than 10 boot failures across a couple computers with win10 "auto updates" LOL, still 0 for win11 for after 6 months of using.

Since the latest "feature" update, I get stutters and hitches from time to time in windows and games. I guess that's a new "feature" indeed.

You have to understand that the OS is the most popular product they have, so obviously it is the one they want to squeeze every penny they can from it (from selling your personal data most likely). Personally I would have stayed on Win7 if it was possible, but at this point too many games I actually like dont work on win7 (not to mention that Steam will end support for it at the end of this year).

WUB guys. Windows update blocker. Use it, disable AU, do update if/when necessary, not when windows sets it itself. And some filtering engine, like Malwarebytes FW, and u r safe. Unless browsing pr0n sites non stop...

A File Explorer bug was resolved in this Microsoft update released yesterday, along with a s*** tonne of new features. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/june-27-2023-kb5027303-os-build-22621-1928-preview-1ada2c0a-fa85-43f8-91c4-6ee13fdf278b This update addresses an issue that affects File Explorer (explorer.exe). It stops working. This update addresses an issue that affects File Explorer. It might stop responding indefinitely. This occurs after you try to view the effective access permissions for files in File Explorer.
