EXACTLY. Not that I wouldn't think that all the countries of the world which have the tech don't spy on everybody. But this is ridiculous. Think am gonna punch anybody who says the words USA and freedom of speech in one sentence in the face. They should change their constitution to: Freedom of speech - only when big brother is able to listen to what you say.. 😛uke2:

Basically it's a move that tries to render things like https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere useless as a way around NSA. So, potentially, not even https://encrypted.google.com/ or https://duckduckgo.com/ would mean **** anymore if they can get the keys. Might be time for some of these companies to move if everyone's data is going to be compromised, but from i read they still need a warrant. But that's a joke since the star chamber(FISA court) approves 99% of the warrants.

Nobody in the US can actually remember the last time "freedom of speech" actually meant anything. Anymore, it's just words on the document (US constitution) that congressmen and senators have been wiping their asses with for more than a decade. It's the same way with "freedom of religion", "freedom of expression" and "freedom of the press"....just words with no meaning.... NSA, FBI and CIA knew "9-11" was going to happen long before it did but made no attempt to stop it (even going to the extent of claiming no knowledge of it) just so they could justify taking our "rights" away to "protect" us.... Seems these days it's our own government we need to be "protected" from, not any terrorist group...

isnt the fed in enough trouble ? i mean there being brought to court cause there tapping cell transmissions as it is among other things. Fun part is most people dont believe this or dont want too.
Always online age is wonderfull thing but terrifying too. Nothing is safe and info can be pick out of there air. Only way none of this would matter is if all our satellites tech all got emp'ed sorta like what happen in escape from la or revolution series.

I'm tired of hearing this ridiculous garbage. Knowing a terrorist attack may happen =/= knowing exactly what will happen. The idea that the people in charge let it happen to establish tighter control is laughable. You can believe what you want but dear lord, don't post stuff like this.

All 3 departments admitted to such knowledge a decade ago. The reason they did nothing to stop it is because the 3 departments weren't/aren't allowed to directly share information. Instead of fixing the issue, the Gov't created the DHS which acts as a "middle-man" between the 3 departments, among other things....

Other way to interpreted the 'news' is they want to 'show' us that it's not easy as we thinks to gain master key to any commonly used encryption algo while in facts and sure, since the first cipher being found and used, they already getting hand on it.
We need 3rd party non-government embodied entity and run by community for signing certificate authority, other than those 'fishy' verisign, gossl, startssl, comodo, etc. Otherwise i need to start becoming a excibisionist instead lol.
