As far as I'm concerned, a lot of webcams have the record-light hardwired, and I'd like to see FBI try to turn that off. But off course, if you have a software-controlled LED light, I would assume FBI or any respectable hacker has the possibility to turn it off.

there was an news thing about this as well. they can turn the cam on and turn on the mic. there is also an app you can use to spy on people. guy was using it to spy on his ex. he could see and hear everything going on from his computer in his house.

Average Joe is safe and shouldn't worry unless you're a hot female that likes to walk/dance/whatever half/naked in front of your cam. I doubt it'll be worth their while breaking in to gain access to random machines, they need a suspect or a target before go waist their time, but you never know as each perv has their own preference and that might be anyone so yeah. Doesn't that make phones or any other connected device just as vulnerable?

My camera is disconnected all the time, i just don't use it. But if they like seeing me having sex with my gf, i don't really mind, but it only applies when my camera is connected (almost never).
