I've been hoping for a new Black and White game for years. I can't imagine that they would just completely kill off the Fable franchise though. Hopefully they would allow someone else to take over or create a completely new game one day.

I hope so too. Even though they were painfully easy games I enjoyed them. Lots to do and good bit of humor. Great games to play on a lazy day. Plus my wife, who isn't a gamer, loved them and actually completed all 3.

Sad, I still remember the craze for Black & White around 2000, when I was still buying tons of actual paper magazines about pc hardware and games, it was truly revolutionary for its time. Come to think of it, there were many revolutionary PC games around that time, and the graphics would go better and better as well. Now it's more of a stalemate, both gameplay and graphics, partly due to consoles (maybe) and mostly because it's pretty damn hard to be original at this point. VR will help a bit in that aspect I hope.

Microsoft obviously had a clear look at what the finished project was turning out to be. I can guess it was either so bug ridden as needing to be taken back to the start or just not good enough to market and judged it best to cut it short than have more months of development funding and a costly advertising and printing cycle. It's bad that they closed the studio, but I'm betting that if they didn't do it now it would have been closed shortly after release of a flop

Duh? You don't like it, or you do not need/want it. But, why does it make you happy, that none else can have it? It is not like Fable was damaging gaming industry or that they delivered horribly small and bad games at atrocious prices.

He is a bit like steeve job (great success and great fail too), horrible man but creative, if you like him or not, the video game world wouldn't be like it is now without him.

Thing is, Molyneux was gone for some years anyway. Don't think he had any involvement in this, or at least very little.
