I'm really surprised by this because the beta was actually pretty good and really far along. It was a pretty original type of game too. Bummer.

Peter Molineaux departure in 2012 was not a good sign. 🙁 Windows store exclusivity and DX12 are not helping too..

Screw them. Fable sucked anyways. I recall PM had the gall to insist Edge Magazine give the original 11/10. They didn't.

First time I've even heard of Fable Legends, but my sympathies to the people being laid off. Enjoyed the first Fable game quite a lot, just a shame it went downhill from there in the franchise.

The first Fable was great, then like so many ip's do, it went to hell. I'm a bit surprised by this as it seemed the development was pretty far along and it was one of few titles MS could tout as being exclusive to their system. That being said, regardless to how bad the series had gotten, I never like reading about people losing their jobs. That is unfortunate and I hope they find work elsewhere, soon.

I haven't played a game with alternate views of the combat since the first Natural Selection. I was really looking forwards to playing Fable because of this and it's rts style gameplay. A damn shame.

Seems like a strange decision considering the game was almost finished. Don't get me wrong, there are one or two companies I'd expect this sort of thing from, but MS isn't one of them.

His departure from Lionhead 4 years ago (with his ideas and attitude) didn't helped his former company to survive.

Problem was it wasn't nearly finished. It was going to be F2P so they needed to constantly add new stuff to try and make money, I don't know who's decision it was to turn Fable into a F2P game, but it was a strange one...

I wasn't aware it was a F2P title, not the best format for the series.

They only did Fable, played 1 and 2, I tihnk they didn't do anything relevant in terms of innovation or taking a risk in going a specific route. For me Fable was always a barebone cookie cutter game, that didn't do anything special in terms of rpg, and consisted mostly of marketing and easy access for noobs. In terms of gaming no big loss.
They also made Black and White (their best game) and The Movies. I liked Fable for what it was, an enjoyable RPG that was dead easy to play.
