If you can squeeze it I would say try to get the 650ti boost as its a much faster card than the original 650ti.

Hitachi Deskstars are notoriously unreliable and have the highest RMA rate of any HDD available. I would def swap that drive for a WD or Seagate. Corsair VS450 also have a high return count, however if it's what you can afford it will do as long as it comes with a decent warranty. Where are you shopping from?

Well the bitfenix prodigy and ram is from scorptec and all the other parts are from centrecom. also i will switch out the hard drive thanks for that.

Sure, as long as you don't mind playing at 30fps (with occasional chugging due to lack of vram). Why are you looking for another rig, what about the specs in your profile?

Realistically if you want a complete gaming system for $900 you'll need to get some parts 2nd hand, and prob switch to an AMD platform. You could actually put together a decent rig...much more than buying new. Do you guys have a site like TradeMe in Aussie? Or do u all use eBay?

If you want a slide show at 1920x1080 then yeah the 650ti is fine (just because is gets a 30fps average does not mean its playable) but the boost should not be $60 more here in the states it's $10 more for a 1GB $20 for the 2GB. You could also check second hand and maybe pick up a used 570 or something. On the PSU is the corsair CX500 avalible in Australia? You could save a few more $ if you go to a 3220 i3 CPU.

Hardware is more expensive down under. In NZ the Boost costs an extra $50. Here is a list of hardware prices at different stores in NZ if you're interested. Australian prices are about the same. http://pricespy.co.nz/category.php?l=s133964514&o=produkt_pris_inkmoms#prodlista Also the CX series has had a high fail rate ever since CWT started building them. I guess it doesn't mnatter with a 5yr warranty though...more annoying than anything..... Here are RMA return stats for PSU's last year:
- 3.54% for the Cooler Master GX 450W - 2.11% for the Corsair CX430 V2 - 1.40% for the Antec Neo ECO 450C - 1.06% for the Antec High Current Gamer 400 - 1.01% for the Antec Neo ECO 400C - 0.90% for the FSP (Fortron) HEXA 400 - 0.28% for the Cooler Master Elite Power 400W - 0.00% for the FSP (Fortron) AURUM 400 And for the 500-550 Watt models: - 2.10% for the Corsair CX500 V2 - 2.04% for the Antec High Current Gamer 500 - 2.03% for the Seasonic S12II-520 - 1.94% for the Cooler Master Silent Pro M500 - 1.80% for the Cooler Master GX 550W - 0.96% for the Seasonic M12II-520 - 0.56% for the FSP (Fortron) AURUM 500 - 0.53% for the FSP (Fortron) HEXA 500 - 0.46% for the Antec High Current Gamer 520M - 0.27% for the Antec Neo ECO 520C
I was wrong about the VS450, it was the GX450 I was thinking of....

a good 500W is more than enought for that rig. he could easily run a lot more demanding gpu with a good 500W psu.

Yeah but a 2% failure rate ain't that crazy for a cheap PSU at least it's not an Ultra or on of those fake 700W ones they sell on amazon or eBay. I still say OP could go for the i3 3220 if he is worried about price. Or he could go for an FX-6300 and an okay 970x motherboard.
