All i owned from them are some Backplates. But i don't need those anymore in the future now Arctic Cooling has a new Cooler Design 🙂

Glad they eventually did the right thing but the app is inferior to AB anyways. Steam tie-in, no amd support and a UI that makes you want to pull a Sam Neil in Event Horizon -"where we're going we don't need eyes" Not sure if they deserve to be blacklisted over it tho; we all f*ck up. If their products are priced well and they're what you'll looking for, you'd only be hurting yourself in the end

Owned! :D

Never touched anything EVGA, I did like their business model though there RMA and upgrade service seems to be outstanding...... Shame that now I will never ever even consider touching anything they make from this day forward. They flat out deny this, then once they get caught red handed, then they own up to it! Shame on you EVGA, shame on you! I think certain people need compensating for this!

Bad on EVGA, but boycotting perfectly good hardware is dumb. I hope they learned their lesson here. That's like boycotting china for making pizza using the same amount of sauce as dominos. You don't boycott the country, you boycott the pizza.

So everyone is going to not buy Evga cards because they cloned some software? Evga have one of the best warranties and service ive ever seen. Program was a copy so they took it down, Not really a big deal.

That's what I'm saying. They goofed and are making up for it. We don't even know the full situation.

Yeah they did the right thing by taking it down. But people are being retarded about it, going wayyy overboard. I never used Precision but one time, and went back to AB almost immediately anyway. People just want to find an excuse to be a major jackarse in today's world. Quite Frankly I'm tired of it.

Glad they've finally seen some sort of sense, would it stop me buying their products in the future? Not at all, regardless of this their cards are still some of the best.

Good thing I downloaded the app when I did, then. Works great and I will continue to use it with every EVGA product I purchase in the future (great cards, BTW).

Except that this market has a lot of brands I would just as well buy from and don't offer less quality. So after this, I just look at one of the other GPU brands like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Sapphire, Club3D, Zotac, XFX, Inno3D, Gainward etc.. I never considered them for motherboards anyway.

What the hell is wrong with you guys? I don't get how EVGA deserves a permanent boycott over this. They had a very valid reason for keeping the interface the same, and obsolete Rivatuner references in the code are basically a guarantee when this program used to be entirely based on it. On a scale of ethics, with 10 being baby killing, this might rank as .05. It would be different if it was literally completely lifted, which it obviously was not.

If this is how they behave, stoling property, no more evga for me ever. Companies do not have the moral high ground, they never had it, but lies on top of thief... they are insulting my intelligence if they expect me to believe such amount of crappy excuses and denials.

Reading some comments it seems we the public really are that imbeciles, either that or more probably, they have hired one of those companies that make marketing and public relationships in the internet and are spamming that crap in this forum.

@ignigena No, it's just that the average Joe doesn't give a crap. It's just an OC tool for EVGA graphics cards. All this background drama is nothing but noise.

Boycott EVGA all you want over a software goof that they owned up to.it just make it easier for me to get a second hand 780. I not gonna boycott any thing as Evga transferring warranty is one main reason I get their card's,Make it easier to sell as well make it so when I buy a used one, i don't have to go thru any hoops to get warranty. How many other hardware makers would do the same not many.

I'm tired of big businesses pleasing themselves! We're all different, and all our opinions are equally as valid as yours.

Not really Quote: They did the right thing eventually. If this was EA nothing would have changed at all. I give them props for retracting the download.
+1
-2. They did something right but didn't still admit stealing code which was clearly the case proven by the references and design screenshots found, AND still keep distracting people with BS about Precision design which has nothing to do with RivaTuner and the case here.

And to think I was probably going to get as many EVGA products in my new PC next year. Sad really. Such a shame they are so shameless.

See, I think those of you casting judgments on us, calling us names, and comparing stealing code to murdering children are the ones who are taking it too far here. Why are we being called "jackarses" and "imbeciles" for deciding not to continue supporting a company who has STOLEN code only to falsely call it their own, then blatantly lying about it to cover their arses? The only reason they decided to try and "make it all better" by taking down the software is because they were caught! Period. They are in damage control mode. If you really think this kind of unethical BS is ok, and want to continue supporting a company that does things like this, allowing them to go unpunished for it, be my guest. Personally, I refuse to keep giving these clowns my money for the time being. At least until I feel they have proven themselves to be worthy again. I'm not saying they are irredeemable, I'm just saying this pisses me off and I'm speaking on it with my wallet. Besides...there are a few great companies that make quality NVIDIA cards. EVGA is not the only gig in town, and obviously it's about time they realized that a little more clearly.
data/avatar/default/avatar35.webp
Definitely a shame. I like many others have been exclusive to buying evga cards mainly for there warranty and step up program. But I feel this is pretty crappy of them and I may consider Asus or MSI for future purchases
