Well at least the fan bearings last a decade longer...

Here's the one thing that's not clear to me....I have a 1080 sc acx. But I installed an evga hybrid cooler on it. So I'm not exactly sure if I need to worry about this now. Or if I should install the pads. Also, i run the fan at 100% cause i dont care about sound, i care about maximum cooling. Any opinions?

I took some thermal imaging from my colorful igame gtx 1080. I want to know at what temp or condition should we call this gtx 1080 is overheating. The back side of my card is over 80ºC when running furmark, is this overheating?
This is my thermal imaging video, just skip to the middle.

I think Furmark still needs to be used for stability testing. If the cards survives that, it survives regular use for sure. And I have that claim at build quality. A card that doesn't survive Furmark isn't good enough.

The damage is already done.
The Heat sink or plate they use on their cards is very poorly designed compared to other gfx cards that i've seen.
The whole thing doesn't look like it's even been made to bother with anything other than the gpu.
Even once you do get pads where are you meant to place them because just sticking them on the HS's fins is not going to work out very well at all.
You need a proper flat plate for heat transfer so i doubt this can even be resolved with pads. Ramping up the fan curve through VBios is not really a fix but more like a bodge.

everyone do cost savings, but with 10% on production, 10% developing, 40% marketing and 40% revenue proportions they cut only production costs...
