@Hilbert Hagedoorn Can you get in touch with EVGA and ask why there fans don't spin down? They advertise under 55c they spin down so 0b noise. I'm sure some of us are in EVGA's preorder for this card. I was getting it for the large cooler expecting it to run quieter(not planning to OC). Planning on setting a custom fan profile using precision x for lower DBA's. This behavior makes that a bad idea. EDIT: I wonder if the regular BIOS this is the behavior but OC BIOS it is not?

They do spin down. I explained in the article that at default BIOS configuration the fans spin down. However in OC BIOS mode they kept spinning in idle.

Thanks. I glossed right over it. After rereading the acoustic then the conclusion it makes since. Its a bit disjointed to keep track of both of those BIOS settings. Maybe for these dual bios cards the acoustic and power sections you could show both modes tested? Thanks for the review. I was hoping you would review this card.

It could be that for some reason EVGAs zero rpm mode makes noises when the fans kick in again. My last 2 cards have had it and I have had to use Rivatuner to prevent the fan turning off. This ASUS dual doesnt make the noises, and the fans turn off and start silently. For more info on the issue there is a big thread on the "zero rpm noise" issue on evga foums.

150+ $ for card series that should be $499? Rather get ps5 and that is exactly what will happen. a system rebuild if I bother to do one wont happen for 2 more years and gpu change probably wont ahppen to my 1070ti out right dies, prices are just get to stupid

By the time these GPUs actually ship, many will have forgotten this review entirely. To an extent, EVGA is trying to counter this by putting people on a list to receive one. Apparently, however, both AMD and nVidia have several new model announcements to make this quarter, so EVGA may or may not be shipping these cards to everyone now on the list. I signed up for the auto notify. They place you in queue, send an email then give you 8-hours to purchase. I still have not received an email notification.

by the time these card readly availble the 4xxx card will be outed or out, and then it will start over again imo

it just happend i get one of this beast and its awesome i pay they price but no other choice really $850 us dollars and i am happy , and no i dont buy it from a scalpper i get it from e tailer in my country and i was lucky that day to have the chance to buy it before its gone jus 3 cards was available and i get 1.
