With numbers like these, I'm sure to not buy one tbh.

Still cheaper and faster than 13900k.

That is a steep price for an 8c16t CPU.

The value on these processors are pretty poor. Then again they do serve a particular niche. I'll be picking this proc up when it comes on sale in the UK and get it shipped to my country (we have no online retailer that serves the enthusiast market). Overall though if gaming isn't your thing Intel or the non-X AMD processors are the better deal, I think.

Why not go for the 5800X3D in that case? The price for that CPU has plummeted the last month or two. I bought mine for 480€ and today it costs 410€ or less.

Tbh I think the CPU price is OK - the problem is rather the price of the whole AM5 platform. Sure, DDR5 prices have really gone down lately but the mobos are still expensive.

I was expecting around 500 euros, so no surprise. Also, this is an high end CPU, so of course it is going to be expensive.

So about the same as the 5800x3d when it launched. Hopefully it will become much cheaper as well in time.

@Undying 110eur over 13700KF, 220eur over 13600KF, non-overclockable, boards are more expensive than s.1700, ram tops at 6000. Almost everything else, amd or intel, is better value than 13900K, so that's a low bar to clear.

@Netherwind ... cuz right now 400 euros is outside my comfort zone. Still will be looking at some bargains or price-cuts . I am not excluding the 5800X 3D

The 5800x3d is still the best bang for the buck, especialy since the Mobos and ram are equally priced well. Interested to see the Guru review on this.

400-450€. More than that is waste of money.

5800x3d is £310 at Amazon UK right now. 5800x is £205.

this is a good value if you're a gamer - the cheapest boost to fps you're ever going to get (unless you buy the 5800X3D) and the AM5 platform has longevity - just you wait until the phoenix APU's come out - that will put a world of hurt on the entry level gpu right now DDR5 prices are fallingw/ more vendors offering competition. hell you can even get a T Group rgb laden DDR5 6000 cl 36 for the same price as a bare corsair

I'm not inclined to agree with this. It's a good value if you like chasing the highest frame rates you can, but something like a 13400 or 5700X are much better values for the average gamer.

fair i should've qualified... "for gurus" overall i'm loving the i-5 13600 for and 7600(non x) for current mid-range mixed use cpus. can't argue over Zen 3 for value

Ryzen 5600, 140€ and can go lower on 2º hand or promotions, a banguer. Ryzen 5500 100€ new, 80€ 2º hand, a friend bought one for this price, that little thing, with a reasonable OC, eats every game and is very cold.

Ah, well you should do what's best for your wallet but if it's just about a few € then wait a bit more as the X3D really kicks ass in comparison to the regular 5800X.

lol these prices are completely off... People can buy 13600KF for 320 euro. That 3D cache is not worth 60-80% more money.
that's a great cpu too but it depends on how much gaming you do and whether it's the primary use of the pc. one could argue that the fps increase is worth it for the 7800X3D on the "Nvidia scale" of value 😉 but i won't as that i-5 plays extremely well w/ everything

if the manufacturing cost of 3D cache wasn't so high this is where a 7600X3D would shine at 350 euros and would be everyone's 1st go-to. but it's still too expensive for this range even though there is no technical reason they couldn't
