@Koniakki Exactly. 😀

Wooooooooooow.... man this thing is epic for a laptop... Maybe i missed it (possibly on purpose) but did i not see a price tag?? And i wonder about that thermal throttling "shtuff" that could wuite be an issue. As this is a desktop replacement of sorts. Just wonder what that price tag is in comparison to such.

The base model starts at $3499, p5200+i9-9900K raises to $5086 etc etc.

There is P5200 on the same pic. Similarly sized, and with the same cooling design, which relies almost entirely on convection by copper. P5200 TDP = 150W 314mm2 i9-9900k TDP = 95W (nominally) TDP realistically: similar to P5200 = 150W (+?) 178 mm2 Assuming that the two coolers are of similar capacity, and noting that 9900k has one more heatpipe directly over the die, but also noting that its die is > 1/3 smaller, 9900k should throttle much more aggressively than P5200 when driving the worst case workload. As to how much, assuming that P5200's cooler is truly 150W, the one on 9900k could very well be close to 95W https://abload.de/img/9946dbd.png

TLDR ^^ You might lose something like 8% perf, 9900k, worst case scenario.

This is an absolute beast, haven't checked yet but RJ Tech probably has a barebones kit of whatever this new clevo update is underneath, I'm sure it's still astronomically expensive though - if slightly less so.

Yowser! my only comment (besides an Amen! to Koniakki) is i really and truly hope this comes with noise cancelling headphones.

It's called 'Tornado' analog to the jet, 'cause when the cooling kicks in, you'll know why! 😀

I hope that Eurocom knows what they are doing. Maybe they should with this pull an ASUS and provide a liquid cooling style docking station to help keep this laptop running cool. Can't wait to see how well the cooling is with this laptop. This is not the first time Laptops were able to use Desktop CPUs and being upgradeable too. I know there was some gaming laptops with a 6700K and some older laptops that were Pentium 4 based as well. Also there were gaming laptops that had upgradeable GPUs in them as well if you found the correct and compatible card.

They do make Clevo clones and have a long tradition to make user configurable systems, I did a trial configuration for workstation with max memory and drives - guess what - $20163 ...A SLI gaming laptop might go higher still... Well, just $16942...

Yeah I know about the Cleo clones I was just talking about laptops that could be upgraded by the user if they know what they are doing.

Cooler looks thick enough for a 45w cpu at least.

Most high price gaming laptops can be upgraded, my old MSI with GTX 680M could be upgraded up to GTX 1070 - but I didn't do it. Bought a new one with GTX 1080. Mobile processors mostly can't be upgraded but Clevos with desktop processors are upgradable.

It looksl like the MSI GT 73 chasis ?

Must say yes, very similar.

I bet it creates a mini tornado in your room when it's fully stressed.

The old Eurocom chasis from the temps i saw were awful. It had alot of thermal throttling. I think this is a good move for them because this Chasis i can say from owning the MSI GT73 runs as cool as a desktop even when overclocked. It is a thing of beauty

I wonder why would someone need it? Can't you just send data to cloud and let it process it. Is there some kinda on the spot, huge data processing requirement? Like video encoding while on the move.
