so what is the difference in setting the pwm/rpm to 0 with speedfan aso, to stop the fan????? maybe i miss something, but i dont see the feature.

Not all systems contain the functionality to put a fan to a complete stop ...so it is useful option , I always want my fans to go off when specially in winter
