Why you need it, because noise, this Enermax TR4 is noisy bastard and custom water loop is still quieter than any AIO on market plus you can cools yours GPUs etc Plus above waterblock is full coverage block which will cools yours VRM plus CPU etc, VRM cooling on X399 I don't think you need it but everything helps, this VRM cooling will be more beneficial on X299 than on X399 Bykski WB cost less and they perform on par with EK or Phanteks or XSPC blocks Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
