Securing it with ATX mounting points seems to be a great idea that should prevent sagging of heavy, especially watercooled GPUs. The price is a bit on the high side, though. I wonder if the included HDMI cable is 2.1 compliant and also if there will be a white version of this bracket.

There might be one major issue with the bracket, looks like it is only possible to secure to the ATX mounting points with flat motherboards, can't really see how that frame is modular. Don't think that you have to use the included cable. Linkup do make their cables in white too, so would only make sense if EK offered a white version at some point.

What's wrong with mounting your GPU in the PCIe/AGP slot, just as "god" intended?

Nothing, and still the prefered way in terms of temperatures.

Hm, yeah, it may not work on all mainboards. There seems to be a bit of a rise to accomodate heatsinks and whatnot, but if the screws go through the heatsinks, the heatsinks are higher than the the space or similar it may become a problem indeed.

I meant a white bracket. But a white cable would be a nice addition, too, although teh cable is usually obscured by the video card from most angles anyways.

Nothing, as long as you're happy with it. Although in some cases a vertical GPU mount may allow for better airflow and better overall system temperatures. Some people may prefer the aesthetic part of it as well, as many GPUs don't look all that nice on the side/backplate as they do on the face side.

The PCB on my old 1080 warped over time, most likely due to the waterblock's weight. Wouldn't have happened if it were mounted vertically.

...or use a graphic card holder.

Ever had a water-block with an acrylic top?

So far, there are no aftermarket solutions that are flawless. Think I have seen a single case that includes a propper bracket for the purpose, and that bracket is only available with that particular case.

Nope, only ever AIO or air-cooled my PCs. I build them for power efficiency and quietness nowadays...

Lian-Li GB-001X works great.

Thanks for sharing, nice to see that they sell them without a case. Will have to measure, maybe I need the GB-002 instead, since my card is a tad shorter because of a water-block.
