So is it able to run 4k@60fps clips on youtube smoothly?
Cause with limited space, I can only see this being used for streaming videos online.

UHD contact playback is not an issue as long as the video processor can accelerate it. So whether that is coming from internal storage or streaming, is not relevant.
Internal storage, however, remains limited in volume size, a MicroSD card can be used. Alternatively, an external USB stick or drive would do the job as well I guess. But for somebody with a NAS & WIFI, this works the best with good AC wifi.

All right. Looks like this is actually better streaming solution than cheap raspberry pi.

I think I remember right that you can buy a keyboard & mouse operating from a single wireless dongle so that would save one of the USB's

I use a similar mini-pc for my 32 ft trailer entertainment. I create a weeks worth of playlists of movies and TV shows and then stream to my 2 TVs.

Could buy a Laptop, 11inch or so, with the same specs/x265 ability, for the same price or less, and get a screen/keyboard/OS thrown in. Portability is an odd one as you'd still need a mouse/KB, but you can get small ones. I am drawn in my these tiny PCs then realise a laptop basically beats them to bits in almost all cases. Skull Canyon ones are nice though, potentially beefy specs in a tiny package where laptops just ain't gonna come close, size-wise.

Very interesting internal design. I think only the Pentium options are worth considering. The extra ~$20 is well worth the extra specs you get. I think I'd prefer a Jetson TK1 over the Celeron model.
I would consider this device to be a thin client, where you'd likely want a NAS or cloud service if you want high storage. I think this was only meant to have enough storage to run your applications and that's it.

Fully agree with schmidtbag. Thin client it is, but independent. As HH says, it is okay'ish on many aspects so not good anywhere.
I would rather go to a rPI 3 for the time being with KODI in FHD and wait for rPI 4 for UHD. W10 is useless for these little things.

I won't buy another Windows PC with only 32GB main storage. Endless problems getting the bigger Win10 updates to install. These will theoretically fit, but not actually; other real-world issues (such as having Office installed) intrude. Yes I know about using the SD card space, and also about how that fails.
Don't buy 32GB. Get 64GB (which incidentally is missing from the specs on the article front page).
PS: The term is "full-fledged", not "full-fetched".

Not sure why they didn't include an 8gb model? Up Squared has a board with an Apollo lake Pentium and 8gb of ram on it...

Not sure why people would need 8gb of ram out of this.
4GB of ram for the type of work people will do with this PCs, will be more than enough.
I had built a PC for my parents with a Pentium G haswell which is still 2 cores/2 threads with 4gb of ram, and hardly it gets full.
Watching movies, browsing and doing the office stuff 100% smooth.
