Oh no, now the prices will rise again and... that's probably it.

It's not like it was anybody's fault that there was a 7.3 Earthquake...

Totally is. They're digging a hole across to the U.S. to invade. Other than that, fracking. or the Earth is angry. They could always just use some of their insane profit to keep prices sensible. Imagine that.

I thought japan is hardly making pc level semiconductors. China and korea taken over that field.

Actually, the Earth is perfectly happy. If there were no earthquakes, it would mean the core would be cooling down. That would mean no magnetic field, which in turn would mean no protection from solar winds in the long term. The atmosphere would be washed out into the space eventually, like happened to Mars. Among other unfortunate results, such as animals getting lost and compasses stopping to work. So, while earthquakes can be catastrophic and lead to great human tragedies, they are still a side effect of something we can't afford to lose.

Not At All. Japan has two of the four most advanced (lithography) machine tool makers in Canon and Nikon. the others are Applied Materials (USA) and ASML (Netherlands and holds EUV patents). in addition, the highest quality electronic components are made in Japan that find their way to every high end mobo. as a matter of fact that's one of the distinguishing features between the sub-$200 mobo (Chinese) and the over $200 mobo. over half of the 3D NAND SSD/M.2 is made in Japan and are cutting edge semiconductors. Korea (by way of Samsung) is a huge player but they do not control the market like the combo of Kioxia and Micron do.

Hehe what people a lot of time can not do is visualize that the stable solid land mass on top of the earth is just few km deep and the deeper you go it is molten magma that has currents ! A semi good way to imagine it is like an egg ! We live on the shell on top of it and is cracked and the insides spinning making the shell pieces rub to each ( earthquakes )other and move also some times pressure builds up making magma spit out (volcanoes)
