As long as they don't embed crippling DRM on the games so bad you'd want to force choke them. (and of course as long as they turn out great; 'decent' or 'good' no longer does the franchise justice) How long before a Mass Effect-style (a.k.a. cover shooting) Star Wars game, though? =b

So...uhm...Battlefront III, KOTOR III and Dark Forces III, huh?

Had to be EA. Oh well, fingers crossed, at least Star Wars is coming to life again 🙂

Considering EA is the lesser of the two evils when it comes down to those companies. Even when they have Origin, I'd rather buy their games.

Well, we could probably get COD: Jedi Warfare and Sith Ops with Activision. Or maybe Jedi's Creed with Ubisoft. :P

Ohh baby, the prospect of a Dice made Battlefront is just to much - I want it NOW!!!. In saying that, I'd love to see what Visceral come up with.

Its EA which probably means they'll be attached to origin, or maybe not. But I'm betting they'll require it in some form.

I would have rather Bethesda, Take-Two Interactive or Square Enix instead. I'm surprised they didn't go with Square Enix seeing how Disney has had prior collaborations with them. deltatux

Such a shame. Was hoping for a nice Rebellion reboot. Since it's EA I won't buy out of principle. Though better than ubisoft.

Wouldn't it be funny if Disney spent all that money to get their hands on the Star Wars franchise only to find out no one cares about it... Haven't we had enough Star Wars? It's not like there is anything new which could be added to either a film, book, game that hasn't been seen before in the existing mythology/chronology, is there? Dunno, but any 'magic' the Star Wars franchise has just seems really outdated in 2013, let alone two summers from now when the film gets released.

Ouch EA. R.I.P. all those Games.

I consider Origin about as much DRM as Steam is, or UPlay. I'm more concerned about the additional always-on requirement like with SimCity and some Ubisoft titles.

I left Star Wars after the original 3 films, anything after those were just money milking.

Bahahahaha. In a word, No KotoR, No SWG 2, No SW:BF3 - no nothing to do with the original 3 films or the Original KotoR license. This deal was inked so that they could make games that pertain to the JJ Abrams SW films and just the fact that they gave the job to that hack is enough for me to avoid at all costs. You want to see what's in store - Check out the new ST game. SW began at Episode 4 and ended at episode 6 - Hell, Ewok Adventure - The Battle for Endor was better than anything since, from those poxy cartoons to Episodes 1,2 and 3. The last decent SW game was Empire at War and before that it was SWG (Pre NGE) which was almost 10 years ago 🙁. They could have hired a decent director and used the Zahn books but instead they are going with a writer whose only real experience is children's animated films (Michael Arndt) and a director (JJ Abrams) who already buggered up ST and turned it into a Michael Bay 'esque' disaster. SW is long dead, let it RIP. /rant off

I rest my case. JJ's Star Trek wasn't bad, just be thankful it was watchable; 'hollywood' could have really messed that one up.
