Anyone notice the focus on women in games now? GW5 Wolfenstien Young Blood BF V etc I don't have any issues with women in games but it seems to be forced at you. I don't understand this. It doesn't matter either way but it should make sense in a game IMO. But it does come off, to me, disconnected or more of a knee jerk kind of thing.

I agree it's difficult to accept it when it's forced in any kind of game genders and situations but there is an easy explanation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness This political correctness bulshit never ends and got worse lately. The same principle applies when some ppl wants to force black characters in impossible situations like Kingdom Come: Deliverance: People are getting extremely upset because there are no black people in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. How accurate is this for 16th century Bohemia? And now we finally found the reason why there are so few women on the computer industry: Melinda Gates says the early rise of 'male-focused' computer games is a big reason there are fewer female computer science graduates today than in the 80s and 90s Evil male of course... LOL

I have no issue with female protagonists in games, there's plenty of great games with female leads, I mean most recently we had Senuas Sacrifice which I thought was outstanding but yeah politics and video games is a bad mix IMO, if the games good it's good regardless of gender, honestly though most of these E3 presentations have been a bit dissapointing , it's like half these games haven't even started development, out of all the games posted here there's only four games I can see with any in game footage GOW 5, Metro Exodus, Dying Light 2, and Battlefield, the rest are all prebaked fmv sequences although Cyberpunk does look great but yeah some of these presentations seem a bit lazy, I mean the Elderscrolls video is just a flyby over a bit of terrain, and I don't even know what to make of Starfield, nothing much to see at all.

Well add Assassin's Creed Odyssey to the list. I've never seen, nor read that Spartan women were "Freelancing Warriors". Here is a quick blurb. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_ancient_Sparta @ 3:51 ^^^This can apply to any game with a political agenda attached to it.

I'm all for equality. Last of Us 2 was a bit much - but I digress. Lead character aside, this is all the same sh*t I've been playing for 25 years. New graphics, same gameplay, throw a new number at the end of the title or word, In Halo's case they went with "infinite" instead of Halo 6, as they realized they'd reach an infinite amount of numbers continually doing sequels that way. Half of this stuff, like last year, won't be out before next years e3. One of the worst e3's I can remember. Especially on Sony's side. Me thinks new consoles next year by this software rate....also Halo and Elder scrolls being announced for next-gen. Gears of War 5. AKA, same as part 4 until next-gen has a Gears of War 5 UHD UBER OMGZ Edition.

Honestly, it sells right now. To be fair though, Gears of War doesn't seem to be going towards this for money, they've had playable women characters in their games for awhile now.

Sure, sure I think we all are aware of that but it was something that promoted a level of cohesion and harmony. It made sense it wasn't a "us" vs "them" vibe IMO. And yet it still made the company profit.

True, but there was Tomb Raider in 1996. No one that I knew complained about the main character being a woman. There was no political statement being made. It was simply a fun game to play. That's 22 years of gamers buying a game that had a well known female lead character. Wither we agree or disagree. IMO, the reasons for it now has a much more negative connotation associated with it in "today's" games than it ever did in days past.

All I saw was that there'd be a PC version, that's all I needed to know.:D I hate it that I have only GoW and GoW4 on PC, I did not play nor do I know what the heck happened in GoW2 and GoW3 since they were console only titles. I wonder what the PC requirement's gonna be like.....
