Should be mighty beefy... and pricey.

Yay, new hardware 🙂
Think I prefer all the rumours and other nonsense beforehand.
Hope it's something great though, the last few years have been a succession of good, but nowhere near great GPUs

20nms rumoured to be a long way off, or could even be skipped.

7990 was not impressive and kinda poor tbh, 290x was ok card but with horrible TDP heat issues and really not worth to buy at all, it remind me the gtx 480 a lot. well i guess someone at AMD felt in love with the 480 😀
we c how it goes, and i sure nvidia gonna counter that easily with 790.

if nvidia is going to respond with 790 (780tix2) it is useless...amd's idea will be much slower tbh.

I'm always skeptical about those dual core card. There are way too expensive for what you get, and run way too hot.
My old 7970 x2 rig was like 2/3 the price of the 7990 for same performance.
Still, it's useful on small mobo where you only have one pcie slot, if Crossfire is available.
