Just bought 16GB of 1866mhz ram for 60 or 70 bucks, so yeah, cheap and awesome. I almost went for 32GB.

I just upgraded a month ago to 8 GBs because it was only 34 bucks and to be honest I don't see any difference from the 4 I had.Glad I did it while it was still cheap.

Not only are DDR3 RAM prices falling, but also flash drives and other memory cards. They are all dirt cheap right now. Earlier this year a 16 GB flash drive was priced at Php 2,000. Now it's only for Php 500 ~ lol

Building a computer specifically as a RAM drive is starting to sound more realistic at this point. I just wish it were possible to bridge 2 computers via SATA. Aside from SATA having the best price: speed ratio, using a computer as a RAM drive over SATA could also allow RAID usage.

There isnt a protocol to get two computers to talk in that manner, you would also lose all your speed in whatever connector you are using. Ram is fast because it connects through a high speed system to the CPU, going any other way isnt going to be very fast.

Indeed, DRAM prices are dirt cheap atm. Got my 32GB DDR3 for a mere €120. Anyway, this would last me some years, just like my previous 8GB DDR2 which i had since 2007. Was also really cheap back then.
