This might be the year I finally upgrade if the cost drops by 20% for both the RAM and the SSD.

Great thing to lower 10/15% ... Before the created fault of memory Ram was able to buy for 75 € G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4-3200MHz CL15 and now it costs 212 € .... Nothing bad profit with for old tec

This is the best news related to ram in a long time 🙂 , it's about time.

Good timing for a new rig with Zen 2 in 2019.

Glad to receive these news, as I'm holing to buy a new PC because of DRAM prices. I was expecting to buy a Ryzen 2000 but DRAM above 2400Mhz is prohibitive expensive. I was hoping at least to get 16Gb of 3000Mhz DRAM so I'm holding of until Ryzen 3000. Let it come down!

Good thing I got my current DDR3 RAM in 2011 (4x8GB) for only €80. Nowadays I hardly get 8GB DDR4 for €60. Makes you wonder. Another flood, drought, Godzilla incoming to save the day (for DRAM/NAND manufacturers that is)? My CPU is ancient and really want to upgrade to Ryzen 2 next year with a lovely M.2 SSD. Hopefully we can get that 5% discount after those 50% - 100% increases.

What the point save 20% here but processors are going up with 20% pretty sure motherboards prices have gone up as well.

Only Intel processors are going up, take your blindfold off.

No Silva it seems that motherboards are also following the trend of cpu / ram / graphics cards ... Asus are 30/40 euros more expensive than the same models last year (370). Out to God's MSi almost 600 euros ....

A few days ago I did a 2700X build and got some nice 3200 Mhz CL14 ram (16GB) for 280$ CAD / 215$ USD / 186 euros. RIP my wallet, although performance has been stellar so I don't regret it. I remember in 2011 when I got 16GB of 1600mhz DDR3 for under 100$ CAD lmao although the canadian dollar was a lot better then

Prices will fall, only to be counteracted by higher prices due to tariffs.
data/avatar/default/avatar04.webp
I have to say that prices increased yes, but also our expectations. At ddr3/ddr2 times ram was cheaper, there was the supported ddr3 800 up to 1333 with standard price, everything else was high price, as were ddr2 over 800Mhz. Current DDR speed is 2400/2666, the official supported by cpus, but everyone like to buy something in the range from 3000 to 4000+. Those are the overclocked models and are more expensive yes.

He was talking about the fact the guy he quoted stated "processors are going up with 20%", which obviously is not true, since Intel is not the only manufacturers of processors, and it's only Intels processors that are increasing in price.

Yes I was generalizing, over here everything went up AMD processors also went up in price! They make turns to up the price if you ask me. Basically you might save $$$ here and there but overall you going to spend the same $$$ or more for an overall package.

If locally for you prices are going up on AMD processors, that's a local issue where you live and doesn't have anything to do with any global supplies or AMD.

I'm waiting for Zen 2, and if this news end up being true, it would be perfect. I’ll wait till november 2019. Fingers crossed.
