All installed and nice and stable so far, anyone figure out how the make the start menu transparent? - i swear the videos from yesterday showed it as being see through. Also, i really want to remove the taskbar search icon, i have no use for it and am happy using the start menu one - seems weird to not allow us to remove this icon.

Click the explorer pin on the taskbar, then click local disk C: in the explorer tree, and then press * on your keyboard ... it goes nuts. Is this a bug or a feature? lol. Same **** in 8.1

EDIT - Ok done it - Pin "This PC" to the start menu, then drag it to the taskbar > pin to taskbar
EDIT - I think your trick just tried to expand every single dir on the entire machine, lol

Just finished installing - Seems to be running smoothly.
Managed to install almoste every driver without a hitch.. even AMD drivers.. did not have to go trough device manager.
I had to go trough device manager for my Intel nic.. but once i installed it from there i could go back to the initial setup to install intel lan software etc..
Will test gaming soon

Guys, i just build a new backup system, should I install 8.1Pro (just got a new cd-key for it too knowing win 10 update will be free) or should I install Win 10 preview?

Would not recommend it as main OS. Windows 10 is just for testing.. bound to find some bugs and stuff that does not work properly..

Don't you just love the syncing system, all passwords and bookmarks for IE ready and waiting for me on this new installation - such a small thing but it really helps.

Lol .. there's a reference to Windows 8.1 Update 2 in the group policy re the Start Menu. Maybe it really was supposed to be there in the August update but pulled in the last minute.

God dam windows snapping, its bugged or something - when unsnapping your windows they stick to the snapped size and don't return to how they used to be, its so annoying.

What's been shown is pretty much what we expected from 8.1 u2.

I know this, but you'd kinda expect the simple things that are functional in the older OS to be at least working correctly.

Quickly tested two games before going to bed.
Not sure if it's the driver or something optimized in this new windows (Haven't tested the new 14.9 on windows 8.1 yet).
Skyrim and Arma 3 was super smooth with all the bells and whistles on full.
Even tested Arma 3 MP and was still smooth with everything set to ultra.

can anyone confirm if nvidia drivers work on this? going to install new cpu and do some OC'ing which may corrupt my install was thinking this might be a good backup( of course not expecting amazing things just usable for gaming in some form )

Context menus open to the left of the pointer now, this is going to take some getting used to 😀
Task manager also correctly reads my CPU clock speed, it now shows 3.7 GHz instead of 2.67 GHz. Gotta hand it to the new team, they care about details.
