Lucky you, 19.4s hate RX580.

I'm surprised why you aren't getting idle clocks. I have the 4G Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 ,Windows 10 1903, 19.6.2 drivers and no issues whatsoever. The only time I did encountered maxed out clocks, a reboot apparently fixed it for me.

Sapphire 8gig rx580, Win 1903 18362.175, single freesync monitor and unfortunately just 17.1.1 works properly. Quite a few people reported same issue on reddit and some here, so I was just wondering is there more recent driver than 2017 one 🙂

Concerning elevated idle clocks - here a Wattman screenshot! Why is vram jumping up/down all the time? I see no reason for this... https://pasteboard.co/IkwzhDp.jpg
As expected when you have high "Activity". Calling something idle just because you do not expect activity is just wrong.

So why is 19.4.3 the last driver able to idle at 300/300 while everything later is busy-working? This is the 19.6.2 but when I install 19.4.3 all is in idle mode (smooth lines) instantly .. and, btw, there is only 1 short activity spike (green) in the graph

During installation I saw RTSS statistics on installer... it means it was accelerated. Maybe some accelerated Windows stuff now works. I personally have GPU idle clock @300MHz even while memory runs permanently on 2250MHz due to running 240Hz screen. (RX-580)

To me it's bungled code - the graph is implausible

Should be WHQL'd then, looks like the above insider driver has a few newer bits but for this I assume it's just gone through certification which as usual follows a bit after the initial driver release. 🙂 EDIT: Nice to know the driver was updated too, I don't put much in the WHQL or not-WHQL but it's a nice notification and it doesn't hurt to have it out of "beta" or how to call it. 😀

Not too much to say for these, there's only a small difference in the INF file and nothing's changed profile wise. For the insider driver it lacks the 19.6.x profiles for PXDynamic and HighPerfGPU but has several of it's own for forcefully disabling Free Sync for various applications. That entire section is nicely grouped up and looks like this when copied out. FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming FreeSyncForceDisableGaming And from the looks of the info with numbers and such provided it looks like it's using Vulkan 1.1.108.0 instead of 1.1.106.0 which has a few additions and new extensions. https://vulkan.lunarg.com/doc/sdk/1.1.108.0/windows/release_notes.html

Latest vulkan is 1.1.111(112 but that's too early), why they release the driver with such an "old" vulkan version?

Because 19.6.3 is coming probably today with updated vulkan? And if not, they are probably testing it out and not rushing for implementation..

No new games no new drivers. Heavy Rain came out yesterday but you can run that on a potato.
