it includes beta 5 as well as enables a couple of changers that were made in rtss to work 100%

Getting some error trying to install Error opening file for writing - RTCore64.sys Currently have an earlier 4.6.4 beta installed. its not running - no icon in the bottom dock thing. No Riva running either.

In place upgrades don't work and never have. As Unwinder says, Uninstall -> reboot when prompted -> reinstall

in place upgrades do work, the user just has something open that is preventing the rtcore driver from being unloaded when afterburner is closed. the driver is installed as a demand start service when afterburner is started, then stopped and removed when afterburner is closed under normal operation.

Afterburner is not the only application that can open and temporarily block the driver. System apps like defender and anticheats are also monitoring third party drivers as one of possible attack vectors during the last few years and may have it locked it while you’re updating it.

I have never experienced this with battleeye or EAC, but thats just me and limited to the things i'm doing, someone else could definitely experience the driver not unloading with other games, or anticheats / antivirus software. Never had it happen with Defender on my 10 install, or MSE on my 7 install. Perhaps virtualized security could be a factor, but i have things installed which prevent making use of it (old logitech software, XBCD, etc) so i can't test. Does HWInfo64 load the RTCore driver when MSIAB is not open?
