Whats up with the rumors afterburner is dead?

I hope the issue with MSI Afterburner can be resolved with MSI because it is an invaluable and superb piece of PC software that I have been using for many years. I would really miss it if it was completely abandoned. I would be happy to subscribe to a Patreon or something for MSI Afterburner if it was not possible to arrange anything with MSI. I suspect many PC owners would. I suppose the question is do MSI owns the rights to Afterburner as I recall that Unwinder used to also code Precision for EVGA but they decided drop him and make their own version (which is still inferior to Afterburner).

Version 4.6.4 Added new MSI Windows 11 themed skins (Light and Dark editions) by Drerex design Added voltage control for reference design AMD RADEON RX 6700 XT series graphics cards Added experimental support for Intel 11th generation CPUs Added experimental support for Intel 12th generation CPUs Added experimental support for mobile AMD Ryzen CPUs Fixed issue with missing memory temperature sensor on AMD RADEON 5700 / 5700 XT series graphics cards Fixed issue which could prevent MSI Afterburner from opening from tray via main application icon after accessing properties via clicking monitoring tray icon Increased memory overclocking limit for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30x0 series graphics cards Added workaround for internal DirectInput issue, which could cause hotkey handler to stop processing hotkeys correctly after locking/unlocking PC from keyboard with ++ or +. To bypass it MSI Afterburner is resetting hotkey handler state after lock screen transition now Optimized monitoring profiles switching implementation for situations when profiles contain different sets of data sources displayed in monitoring tray icons Application tray icon is DPI aware now: OS level tray icons scaling is disabled now to prevent tray icon text distortion. Power users may revert back to the previous DPI unaware tray icon rendering mode via configuration file if necessary Added new bigger tray icon fonts for >=150% and >=200% DPI scaling ratios. Power users may also select tray icon font independently of selected DPI scaling ratio via configuration file if necessary Application installer is DPI aware now RivaTuner Statistics Server has been upgraded to v7.3.3

thank you for you work that made every "graphic settings" guide obsolete as in you can change a setting and immediately see the result on a very responsive ultra fast refresh graph

had the windows open in case you're wondering, was trying a 12vhpwr cable and didn't want it to burn lol

Ironic considering it came from the author of the program itself.

How do you figure that a tweaking program makes graphics guides obsolete? I think you are confused or not conveying what you mean correctly.
1st google results The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Graphics, Performance & Tweaking Guide The Complete Witcher 3 Graphics Optimization Guide & Performance ... The Witcher 3 Graphics Settings Guide for Optimal Performance Witcher 3 graphics options, performance and settings most people reading those do it to gain fps before learning what options actually do rivatuner totally eliminates that you don't need to read whatever affects your fps, you see it live, even today not all games allow fps counter and they don't say much the frametimes/fps graphs from rivatuner will instantly show you the result and especially the fps drops that a simple fps counter usually don't catch it also tells you how many and which cores are used by the games or the benchmarks...nobody speak about that but I learned interesting stuff with this, like unigine Superposition Benchmark has hyperthreading disabled and only uses the real cores...only the perf cores on intel 12-13th gen too also I owe those 3'105MHz 24'000MHz to afterburner, which sure today you have more ways to do this but it wasn't the case for a very long time and they are all copying afterburner

Irrelevant so no, guides are not obsolete. You must be relatively new to gaming I am guessing. Or you don't know half as much as you think. Graphics impact (performance) guides are still very relevant since the 1% increase you get from overclocking cannot outweigh the performance loss of certain options being cranked up, such as volumetric fog etc, which can impact FPS as much as 25%. No overclocking can counterweight that.. You have much to learn.

Where are the release notes for 4.6.5 or have they just been mislabeled? 🙂

Heu, i have no overlay in any game with the beta 4. It works fine with the beta 3. Do i miss something ? Edit, it's working. Had to re install it again... sry

Nice, I was missing the CPU clocks on 4.6.5 Beta 2 and had to use HWiNFO while benchmarking my new i5-13600KF PC over the Christmas period. These have reappeared in 4.6.5 Beta 4 so I no longer have to use HWiNFO. Yay! Not sure if that was something I misconfigured on my setup initially or if it was re-added in the latest build but I am happy either way.

Thanks Unwinder and guru3d for still offering this incredible piece of software. In times where every GPU is undervoltable, overclockable, and generally you get immense data from all the sensors on your rig, the majority of people would not have that without AB.

It is not a new build, it is available to everyone for a few months since November in MSI Afterburner development news thread. Detailed changes list for beta 3 and beta 4 can be also found there. We just put it to main download page now to make most recent version visible to wider user base.

Thank you for the new release @Unwinder , apreciate it the hard work.

Unlike the broken shite AMD insists on never fixing, Afterburner's profile will persist after boot and won't randomly reset.

There really should be some other decent gpu tweakware too , not cool to be relying on one soft with no real alternatives.
