OK, well this went far enough. A bunch of messages are deleted, stay on topic.

Last few Nvidia drivers have had a few weird anomalies. I've twice now, had to re-install GeForce Experience. In both cases, it simply stopped working and would simply report 'something went wrong'. As to the drivers themselves, 441.66 caused a very slight micro-stutter in Assetto Corsa Competizioni. It was corrected with the installation of 441.87. That driver was exceptionally smooth. I made the mistake of accidentally clicking on the update driver tab when 442.19 was released. That driver reintroduced quite a bit of micro-stutter...even more than the 441.66. In the end, I just removed it with DDU and re-installed 441.87. The smoothness returned. Bear in mind all drivers were using the exact settings and nothing else had been changed. It was clearly a driver issue in my case.

Which version?
I do not remember what version was 10-9 years ago i remember reading the 560 also had problems we are talking about ancient history .... What really stuck with me is when ever a browser causes problems is normally nvidia gpu with ff , although that said it might be selective memory from my part.is not like i did some extensive research 😛

You are correct, it was back with the 560 ~ 580's line of cards and FF. But it was the fault of NVIDIA not caring or not wanting to believe or simply not being able to find the issue. It started with a certain driver and the issue ran for at least 6 months, and months and months afterwards people were still blaming this on the drivers or FF. For me it stopped after a couple of months drivers later, others advises on disabling the hardware acceleration in FF. I never stopped using FF and I like Chrome, which will be destroyed by Edgium anyway as it's 10 times faster, but I'll still be using FF. Last thing I say about this, FF is the only browser which displays webpages in the most correct way and it has been known for that forever. Any webdeveloper knows this! Sad though we're taking about browsers here... I read through three pages and I'm none the wiser whether I should upgrade my 441.87 to this driver. Admins should really start cleaning way more posts which do not really relate to principally talking about the driver. 3 pages on this driver and 1.5 page posts can be deleted for adding nothing at all! The only person who gave me some info was Saabjock : https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/geforce-hotfix-driver-version-442-37.430745/page-3#post-5762542 Respect to some others on page 1 & 2 also! Driver threads should be about the driver at hand, it's settings if there are new or changed, and it's performance compared to other drivers with benchmarks and so on. It's ok to report that you have an issue in an application, and it's ok when another person gives you a possible solution. Still doens't make it ok to suddenly make that application the subject in a driver thread. /Peace out.

Firefox aside, dunno why it became so on topic in the first place, did anyone actually try them compared to 442.01?

One last note regarding Firefox: I have to disable Direct2D for years to prevent occasionally smeared fonts with Nvidia GPUs if Webrender is disabled. Had a Polaris GPU for over a year, never was an issue with it. Though it's not a biggie to disable it. Apart from that, recent drivers are pretty flawless for me.

never had an issue with fonts in firefox, however windows 10 does something differently that causes AF settings to affect chromium based apps, I suppose Firefox might also occasionally be affected if they have made their layer rendering more like chromes.

All right, then. I'll give the driver a go. Thanks for replies, aufkrawall2 & Astynax.

My issue is not related to forcing AF. There is an issue with Webrender though that is. My issue probably is rather specific with advanced layers Direct2D, 1440p, website zoom, lots of auto scrolling and random occurrance.

ye been writing this for a long time.. make [feedback] in the thread title or something so its more clear too, oh and i use vivaldi 😀, can be a bit crap with blue screens (ram manage i guess) but if you are lucky with a version that is more stable just stick to it, the customization is worth it

These drivers feels a bit more blurry to me on IQ compared to 441.87 Less crispy [sharp] textures i dont know its just me but i see it for sure.

Definitely just you, take some screenshots. Should be super easy since you see it for sure.

placebo
I still think they are less gritty sharper in iq in games then previous versions.

and still placebo 😀

So i played with this driver a bit and 442.01 is still better by minimum fps e.g. destiny2 by lots of action going on on screen (especially Moon nightmare public events). Will return to 442.01.

Are some people really coming back to older drivers just because they ( think 😛 ) had 2-3 fps more in some games (error margin for the most part tho) and are losing nice fixes and tweaks from latest drivers by doing so?

its especially silly given a public event means there are highly variable amounts of player characters about which alters cpu and gpu performance from normalized gameplay.

Are you two replying to me? Its more then 3 fps, up to 5-7fps and 50fps vs 56fps is a difference, I don't post bs, never really did, and since others like to post I try to stay out of it, it's pointless to argue, I rather do something more productive. Like now Im almost forced to reply and defend my claims. 😉 And no there isn't any variations, each public event is max 6players at the time. Sora you can keep those placebos, ty.
